Seeing it side by side next to the 1250, does it look a lot smaller? I still prefer the look of my adv. Ride a lot of dirt in South Africa, seems to be a lot of plastic now.

People say it’s the Japanese version now. It’s not as ruff tuff looking for sure. But each to their own I still prefer the KTM 1290 sas.

Nice look at the GS1300 thank you. I 'm close to ordering one but there is a couple of features I'm really not sure of which are 1,Tthe black sides of the windscreen, 2, the rear brakelights, indicators and normal running lights in that small area, I think that will cause problems with drivers not seeing people braking and indicating at the same time. 3, Really not sure about having plastic panniers after a couple of years how well will the plastic buttons and adjuster ? we all know how brittle plastic gets over time. Would like to know how well they deal with a side topple over / crash as the metal ones you know can be bent back in shape does the pannier split? the road assist how will that work when your filtering in traffic as you dont want the bike to put the brakes on. Cant wait to take one on a test ride. Thanks for the video.
@flapjackbeans

Hi yes I agree re the rear lights its going to be very dangerous imho i have been rear ended and the new bike will be very hard for car s etc to see you indicating whilst braking! The bike overall is made well but I can't get to fall in love with it enough to buy one maybe after i have rode it but who knows. Your comment re luggage it would all depend how much you use them, they are made by Touretech so I would think you would get good back up.The windscreen is awful and the winglet things look like pigs ears but maybe down the line a different accessory make may fix that. Ride Safe..

@@flapjackbeans Yes I watched Charlie Boardman KZbin video when he was at the Touretech factory, still not sure they don't seem durable to me but time will tell. I agree have to ride before making that decision

Top box and panniers made for on road only, I think. Would not stand up to going on gravel and off-road. One of the bigger aftermarket companies will soon be offering something more robust. Thx great review. I’ll wait for the GSA.

I had the same concerns as you Scarlet. However if you pop the two bikes side by side the brake lights on the 1300 (split across two LED lamps ) are actually more visible than the old one.

Yes they did i had some on my 2017 BMW GS Rallye they had a lever inside which you pulled down giving it more space. The new ones are Touratech made and are much better IMHO they give you a lot more options plus they are central locking with top box and bike.
