Laura seems to instinctually know how to be in the moment-to interact and communicate with the monkeys almost in a way particular to the monkey in front of her. Individualizing . She and others seem to sense how to pitch their voice to communicate mood and safety states. The feminine protection. The multidiscipline approach to each monkey by, in many cases, the best carer for that particular situation. As for me, I am a retired psychotherapist and the parallel's are not lost. I have not missed a day since I discovered you. My Thanks and Cheers

So happy to watch this baby again, to watch how Kinney is developing right at the beginning where the biggest changes are occurring because they cannot understand what has happened and do not realize they are completely safe now because mama, the only safety they know, is still away. The caregivers are so tender and loving and patient with these babies, nurturing them in every way indicated. Bless every one of you and every person not present at the Foundation but out here on every continent who are praying for the monkeys, the Foundation, the staff, the funds needed- it takes several continents to raise an orphan vervet, doesn't it, Dave?

The incredible patience of these people for these amazing little creatures touches my heart. To pull them back from the brink of death and somehow infuse them with the will to live when the world they know is gone requires the most effort and determination I have ever seen. To find young people willing to set their lives aside to love and rescue these little creatures is huge. Whatever they are being paid, it isn't enough. God bless them all for the wee bit of Eden they have made there in South Africa, a country I visited and fell in love with in 1976, a lot of years ago!

Many of these baby monkeys were lucky enough to be saved at the last moment - TONI, for example. This monkey baby should not have been lying on its mother's dead, cold body for one day longer - it was already closer to death than to life... I am very happy to be able to witness how TONI was brought back to life through your love, your patience and your special care.

I dont understand how this adopted mom thing works with these babies. Obviously the adopted mom cannot feed these babies and we know they need to eat quite often so how do u get the baby back to feed it if they get attached to these adopted moms and dont want to leave them. How long does it take for these babies this small to be able to go out with the adopted moms and stay with them all the time and even sleep alnight with the babies?

The info seems to be that you have around 600 monkeys at the Foundation. When walking around or in the intro cages your people over and over identify the adult monkeys. How can you identify 600 monkeys that look alike? I know you chip them. Do you have readers that can read the chips from a distance? Many years ago I raised dogs and the pups were all alike. We put colored ribbon collars on them and changed them out each week for size. Without the ribbons I would have had a very difficult time identifying an individual. I cannot imagine trying to identify an individual among 600 similar ones. I so enjoy your videos. Any update on what Kyle is doing? Sorry to have so many questions, but I am truly fascinated. What does the lip smacking signify? Also I have noticed sometimes that the monkey is just walking around but it is continuously sticking the tongue in and out over and over. What does that mean? I never realized that behaviors could mean so many different things.

funny enough monkeys do look totally diffrent to each other so if you had 30 of them it would be fairly easy to recognise them and know there names, and once you know one lot of 30 you add the next lot so overtime its possible, most volunteers learn 2 or 3 troops names - Last I heard with Kyle he was doing something wit advertising and film, Normally lip smacking is a comforting or submissive sound, probably teasing some monkey, not sure could have tasted something
