Hey I have about 30 or so in a 90 gallon and a ton of slate, 3 canister filters, lots of air via power heads attached to 02 pumps, but yours look so much nicer! I have Peacocks and Mbunas and just yesterday had to sell : of my full grown dragons blood peacock who were STUNNING because they started to seriously fight, now we are peaceful I just like yours better!

Awesome! Man I love this aquarium. The rock scape is awesome, the water is crystal clear, and the fish are amazing. You have a Lethrinops Intermedious too at 0:38. I simply love this species. You don't see it too often, but it is a spectacular fish. I subbed too by the way. Sorry I didn't sooner, but it's hard to keep up with everyone.

Thanks. Im feeding them a mixture of a bunch of Hikari & NLS pellets. Hikari Bio Gold, Cichlid Excel Floating/Sinking. NLS cichlid thera A and some blood worms brine ship and krill on occasions.

Such beautiful fish. I just had to re home my beloved 4 inch Albino Oscar due to the fact his natural instinct to murderalize everything as big as 2 inches long was kind of a surprise to me at his young age. So, I have purchased, but yet to receive, 5 all male, show quality OB Peacocks to place in my 60 gallon tank that is filtered by the monstrous, but great Fluval FX6 Canister Filter. These fish are by far the prettiest I have seen in a home aquarium! What should I feed my new Peacocks to get them to color up as vividly as yours? Thanks - - Shelley

I only soak the floating ones and pour them in the tank helps the get lower so that everyone has a chance to get some food. Do it if you feel floating foods the food will get distributed better.

Hey, it's Shelley again, and all my uber beautiful OB Peacocks I mentioned below, sadly died in my 60 gallon aquarium as my once awesome Fluval FX6 filter just up and died one day and I was left without a good canister filter until money came into the picture. I had to rely on 2 Tetra HOBs, for some sort of filteration. I honestly should have followed my gut instinct and upon first seeing that FX6 and seeing it was as big, if not BIGGER than R2D2, exchanged it for a more compact and manageable unit. That filter literally scared me. But getting back on topic, are your Peacocks OBs, too? So beautiful, like a swimming rainbow! Where I live there are only 2 pet stores and neither sell OB Peacocks. Can only get them at a premium price on eBay, due to the shipping price the seller has been forced to charge, which is understandable. Anyways, the mixed Cichlid 60 gallon tank I have is a joy with Cichlids that technically should not be together, yet get along harmoniously. Somehow my system works. No body has been killed over territory or mating issues. I have witnessed and broken up near jaw locking and my Firemouths that once were so small are now large enough to challenge everybody to gill flaring. I also have 3 Blood Parrot Cichlids and 1 mature deep dark blue male Electric Blue Johanni. I grew him out in my 20 gallon tank till he became the handsome fella he is. Sadly both his girlfriends have passed away, and I cannot find any female Johannis his size - - about 4 - 5 inches long. So he has been pretty cranky lately, even though I've tried to block his line of sight and yes, my entire bottom of my 60 is covered with hideys for everyone. I now have a Fluval G3 Canister Filter attached to the tank's left side, and a Fluval 206 canister filter attached to the right side. Everybody seems happy, except both my Bolivian and German Blue Rams refuse to swim past the current the 206 outflow current creates. Wussies. But my water is so crystal clear, and my Rams are brilliantly colored. So sorry 4 writing so much. I'm just very OCD about my finny friends, since 95% of them survived the horrid Malawi Bloat and then got hammered 2 more times back to back with more sicknesses including Ich. My baby Parrot Cichlid was heavily infested but all is fine now. ANYWAYS! Letcha go and wanted to give you many props on your gorgeous tank and Peacocks! I have no idea how many Cichlids I have now, but NOT 31, but I was a true believer when these guys first started their young lives in my 20 gallon tank with a Fluval 206 canister filter, that I did overstock. But luckily the 206 kept up with the bioload and I maintained with weekly pwc, of course!

Synodontis Multipacatus if thats the right spelling. They scrap alot tho i got three of them. havent been able to feed them their own food they come to the surface and take the cichlids food. Love them might add one to the gang.

what kind of aggression level are you working with with this community? I'm about to start up a 45g set up for african cichlids and I was really thinking of just doing a male peacock tank. But you have peacocks with haps and other aggressive species.. and they're okay? Or do you only have the few specific peacocks that can handle the others' aggression? I'm new to cichlids, but have many other tropical tanks successfully setup. thanks for your help!
