Doing some cold starts on some of the crusty old vehicles sitting around. Despite it being sunny, it was about 20 degrees outside.

This 1984 Monte Carlo has the flute-like tone for the key in ignition reminder. Did 1984 Monte Carlos ever use a scary buzzer on certain models or just the flute-like tones?
@CrazyWoody19895 жыл бұрын
I want to say they all used the flute like indicators, but I don't know for a fact. I know I had an '84 impala once upon a time and it had the buzzer in it. I also had an '85 olds delta 88 and it had the buzzer as well.
@Jac2Mac5 жыл бұрын
I was surprised to hear that. I thought Oldsmobile would have stopped using the scary buzzer on the Delta 88 by 1984 or 1985 and just used either the flute-tones for the base models or a chime on all models.@@CrazyWoody1989

You don't see many 70's model Monte Carlos of any body style so that's pretty cool. But also the G body (78-88) Montes are really starting to gain some popularity and value. Trust me, it takes that much pumping. But also the car hadn't been started in months, and despite the fact that people keep feeling the need to point it out, I am and was already aware the carburetor is in a very bad way. It needs replaced big time. I rebuilt it years ago and it worked perfectly until the choke broke on it, then it sat around for like a year and just gradually got worse and worse. I have one to replace it with I just haven't gotten around to it since the car isn't a daily driver currently. It needs a lot of work all the way around
