I'm a huge KMFDM fan. I'm also very pro gun regulation reform. I have depression issues. People in my school days 'attempted' to bully me. I've never, ever even considered committing such violence. I help people, help my community, and I give as much as I can. This speaks more to the accessibility of the weapons and the parenting. My parents taught me to stand up for myself and take care of business with my hands. This parent taught their kid to to be a coward, to give in to the power of those that bullied her and to amplify the hate with bullets.

I worked at a school like this in Mexico. The mission of the school was to train Christian leaders of the future, and one of the requirements was that a child should not be forced to attend against his will. Yet, we had them. Mental, emotional, behavioral, disabled...for which teachers were not trained nor equipped to handle. I had 2 troublesome middle school boys who conspired to put my job at risk. They made school hell; the other students begged that they be expelled. Yes, my children also attended a private school for a time in the US, where such children were admitted, several of which were kicked out of public schools. One had seizures in class often and every day.

So they take these problem kids in with good intentions, while endangering the others! Being a Christian myself, I can understand the dilemma, but we all need to wise up! Many of these troubled kids (and adults) need to be locked up. We used to have state run mental hospitals for them, but closed most of them for some bizarre reason! Rather pointing out that the T-shirt has a major connection (especially for someone her age) to a horrific previous school shooting. It totally sucks for the band that their t-shirts might be used in tribute to those Columbine assholes. @FenwayCheapSeats The problem is that some regular people will actually blame the band, lyrics or an entire genre in order to have a quick target for their finger pointing. We've seen this time and time again no matter how little sense it actually makes. The Satanic Panic, Rap music, the rise of video games in addition to rock/metal have always been scapegoats for people who don't look deeper. At this point, knowing this history, it does feel like if you mention these things, you can count on people blaming the band after reading headlines or watching a newscaster point this detail out. All of that, no matter how diligent the news may be in appropriately presenting the details.

And yet in 2019, Switzerland's gun homicide rate was 0.2 per 100,000 people, which is 20 times lower than the United States. In 2022, 11 people were killed by firearms in Switzerland as opposed to 19,000 gun homicides for the US for the same year. We here have lost our minds over firearms. @@kevinskiles2033 Exactly right, Kevin. Codie had it wrong to use the verb "steal". Exactly as you said, children can't "steal" a properly secured gun and then use it to commit crimes like those in this case. For example, if the gun was locked in a gun case or in a gun room, then Natalie couldn't have accessed it directly. Furthermore, if the gun was emptied of ammunition and secured with gun lock, then Natalie couldn't have loaded it or used it, even if she could steal and touch it. Basically, all this stuff almost guarantees that Jeff Rupnow is going to eventually be charged with providing gun access to Natalie. The only ways that won't be true are: (1) Natalie obtained the 9mm handgun used in this shooting from someone besides Jeff Rupnow (which seems HIGHLY unlikely), or (2) Dane County prosecutors fail to do their jobs by failing to charge Jeff Rupnow for somehow providing access to that gun even though that is their responsibility (and I hope that is unlikely because they take their jobs seriously and have respect for the laws of Wisconsin).

Since the Parkland shooting in February 2018, the March for Our Lives movement and related advocacy efforts have raised approximately $33.1 million, including $13.6 million through the March for Our Lives Foundation and $19.5 million through its Action Fund. These funds have been used to support gun control advocacy, educational campaigns, and lobbying efforts. Key legislative successes directly credited to the group include the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act in Florida (2018), which raised the firearm purchase age to 21, implemented red flag laws, and banned bump stocks; the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (2022), a landmark federal law strengthening background checks and expanding funding for mental health resources; and various state-level red flag laws in states like Colorado and New York. This period has also seen the passage of over 250 gun safety laws at the state level, influenced by March for Our Lives and similar groups. Despite these efforts, since the Parkland tragedy, the United States has witnessed an alarming increase in mass shootings, with estimates exceeding 2,000 incidents as defined by the Gun Violence Archive (four or more victims injured or killed). Mass shootings remain a pervasive issue, underscoring the complex and ongoing challenges related to gun violence in the U.S. The laws you're using to judge Republicans never worked in the first place, it just gave the illusion that Democrats were doing something.

it's the people, culture changes and we've come to accept absent parents and broken homes. guns haven't changed much, if anything there's more restrictions on guns than decades ago

The Columbine massacre was a tragedy and there is no doubt possible shooters research Columbine. The thing is if our government isn’t going to make access to guns safer (yes the problem is the gun) then the next best thing is to restrict information about Columbine to the younger generation. I’m not saying we should forget I’m saying if there is a common factor with all these shooters which is (other than access to a gun) it’s information on Columbine, the parents are also a problem if they can’t even secure a gun from their children.

Hmm. The moderator keeps deleting my posts🙂. Why?? Because I pointed out to the root cause of mass shootings which are guns. Good going admin.

People are the threat. Look at Europe? It is trucks and knives over there. Guns are not driving the trucks with ill will and hate....
