Been a while since I watched, The index finger, when a Muslim makes a sign with it (by raising it), symbolizes the unity of Allah. Takbir means Saying Allahu Akbar: God is greater: A proclamation of the greatness of God. When you take shahada and you say I bear witness that Mohammed PBUH is the messenger of Allah, you already acknowledge all the prophets before him, so some people like to add Jesus to it because they were Christians, you could add Moses and all the prophets and won't change anything. The reasoning behind this is that when a Christian or Jew accepts Islam, they need to free themselves from their previous Religion by professing clearly the truth they are accepting. And Allah Knows Best. And for your last question, yes Allah says he forgives any sins as long as you repent sincerely except one which is associating partners with him (imagine the worst thing a human could do, associating partners"shirk" in Arabic is 1000s times worse) when you take your shahada you are like a newborn, a clean slate. Hope you take shahada too inshallah sister if you didn't already. I shed a tear every time I see someone takes his first shahada, I feel happy for them, they cry because they found the truth and they feel relieved. answering ur last question about people in prison, converting to Islam means that u started your journey with God as someone who believes in the truth and that's definitely the right thing to do, but if u like committed murder, theft, crimes towards other people u still have to pay for that, cuz converting to Islam won't give u the complete forgiveness for wrongdoings against other people until u fix those mistakes...hope that answers ur question

BTW, if sincerely knew islam is the true religion u will feel was lost ur whole life then now u find yourself again. I answer ur last question in anther comment cos it’s so important to know. In chritianity what ever u do u will Go to heven even killing as a lot of chritians believe. But in islam even if he converted there’s innocent people died they should get their revenge cos God is JUST. There’s money he stolen & they get suffered when he stole it. How they get their reveng ؟ In that case it depends on Allah murcy. Cos he’s the most murciful. HE can punch him for what he did or he can get from his good deeds in his life to give them & it’s so important to get heaven or God can be just & merciful by giving them more things to have in heaven make them forgive them then God forgive him & get him in heaven. Last example, If Hitler is muslim but he killed to many ppl how he get to heaven¡ In this life they only can kill him one time & that equals one death for one guy¡ what about the other millions or thousands ¿ Here is the point in Judgement day God said in Quran he will punch him in hellfire and everytime his skins burned HE will make for him a new skins to feel the suffering again & again, for every guy he killed. Then he can go to heaven if he’s Muslim. This’s Justice from God equally & fairly
