as a citizen from Rotterdam I can confirm that Jeff Bezos did not manage to get the middle part of the bridge removed for his yacht, too many people were against it when it was revealed and so the city council decided not to deconstruct the bridge for him no matter how much he'd offer, the bridge had just been reconstructed so that also played a huge part in the decision

@Polzanera hmmm, i don't know that much about yachts but these days software is integrated into anything, not just autopilot. Could be that no proper feedback is given on the exact position of the rudder or God knows what. I'd say, given that they are parking that it's pretty unlikely they are using autopilot. Again, i don't know the details but a software malfunction could mean anything and when piloting a yacht that close to shore you're essentially screwed if something suddenly doesn't work. Imagine trying to park your car and right then the power steering suddenly doesn't work and you don't have proper control for a moment. Then again, it could be a dumb driver also.

That frozen car is going to still need a lot of work. Water expands and warps as it freeze, meaning it can brake windows, which can leak more water into the cabin, it can destroy seals, and warp the body.

Alright so after doing some research i found out that apparently after approximately 30mil dollars wasnt enought to convince the spanish equinox to remove the bridge he decided to add a pair of snickers and a 35 dollar subway gift card on top of the 30mil dollars. At first that still wasnt enough but after a few negotiations the spanish equinox finally gave in and therefore gave him the permission to just ram the damn bridge with his Yacht, rendering it destroyed for good, while damaging his Yacht in process, which wasnt a big problem since he got it repaired for free at the New Zealand Dock while doing a wheelie.

All of the cars on the boat catching fire was because of the salt water splashing onto the batteries and shorting them out. When the whole engine is covered in salt water, an excellent conductor for electricity, suddenly the electricity from the battery can ignite pretty much every fluid in the car. It's crazy that they were transporting them just out in the open like that. Even if this didn't happen, it would still be really bad for the paint and the glass.
