It's because he's got conviction in everything he says, completely unapologetic and without any hesitancy. Potentially an admirable trait, but only to a certain point, before it becomes detrimental. Indeed, it might seem compelling the first or second time you hear him. Even if you don't necessarily agree you still get the sense that he stands for his opinions and that he has thought things through before speaking. Weird since Boehly isn't even the front of the operation now. He took a step back at the end of last season to focus on his other businesses as was always planned once a structure was set. Theres a whole board of directors who have a say too. The summer recruiting was also overseen by Paul Winstanley and Lawrence Stewart.

Simon's wrong about our goalscoring. the last five games in the league we are top four in goals scored or something like that. Last month that was our issue, now it's conceding too many... it feels like when one factor is corrected another one breaks. When one player returns from injury, we lose a couple more. Chelsea are their own worst enemy, no doubt about it, and when they finally stop doing that we will see them be a contender again because the metrics show that this team has huge potential

Got young players on long term contracts and spreading the fees over 5 years is him thinking financially, but you need to think technically and how to motivate them. Although Chelsea have spent poorly on young players with nothing but potential, we had to over-spend on those players. Liverpool bid over £100m for Caicedo and Arsenal were after Mudryk. The ownership are more concerned about turning a profit on players than the team actually progressing up the league and doing well. There’s no relegation in the MLS so the ownership has no concept of it yet…

The money involved in football these days, is not only obscene, it is extremely FALSE. Not many companies would get away with what goes on at football clubs these days, and a bigger BODY needs to take control of financial misuses, where nothing is missed, or cleverly covered up by a rather selected highly paid accountant.
