Hi all, let me help you. The rule for 100m sprint is: The first athlete whose torso (as distinguished from the head, neck, arms, legs, hands or feet) reaches the vertical plane of the closest edge of the finish line is the winner. Meaning it's based on the upper body. So - the judges did a great job. You can check this information online.

The IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations), now known as World Athletics, has specific rules for breaking ties in medal allocation. According to the World Athletics Competition Rules 2022-2023, Section 4, Rule 26.10: "In the event of a tie in any competition, the following procedures shall be used to break the tie: a) For all competitions, except for the high jump and pole vault, the tie shall be broken by rounding the times or distances to the nearest hundredth of a second or centimeter, as appropriate. b) If the tie still exists after applying the procedure in (a), the athletes shall be awarded the same place and the next place shall be left vacant. c) In the high jump and pole vault, the tie shall be broken by the athlete who has cleared the fewest number of heights. If the tie still exists, the athletes shall be awarded the same place and the next place shall be left vacant." So, in summary, World Athletics rules state that: - Times or distances are rounded to the nearest hundredth of a second or centimeter to break ties. - If the tie persists, athletes are awarded the same place, and the next place is left vacant.

My Jamaican people. Lyles did win the race. If we want Thompson to grow into the true champion we all know he can be. apart of that means graciously accepting defeat. The same as Usain Bolt did with Gatlin...Lets give what due to Caesar to Caesar. Jamaican normally have a problem when Americans is Confident in themselves, we see it as co*ky and hype. Yet bolts confident we see it as charisma. We place pride in being a humble nation, But apparently we only be humble when we get gold. smh......Congratulation Noah Lyles.
