What I think went wrong is the fact that they have two of the fastest runners Shelly-Ann and Shakari in the semifinals. This means that they both would have to run as if they were in a final. This would put too much strain on their bodies, especially Shelly-Ann because the final would be within the next two hours. This does not give them enough time to recoup.

running rounds is part of every major championship. Nobody gets a pass or get to specify that their shouldn't be anyone else who is very fast in their quarter or semi-finals heats....

Shelly is a forever favorite , there is nothing better .. one of the most incredible stories in human history . Broke my heart to see she couldnt do her one last race , that she worked so hard for. Reminds of Bolts last race. I was also a sprinter and had an injury during what was supposed to be a victorious time of becoming the state champion, i was soo close. Sometimes life is unfair like that ... its so extremely gutwrenching . But to have ended it all with an injury would have been much worse . I will always celebrate Shelly !!!!!

What happened? Performance enhancing drugs. Shericka Jackson pulled out of the 100, seemed like an odd decision. Claimed to be focusing on the 200 and pulls out of that too. Fraser Pryce pulled out in another odd situation. Firstly because she couldn’t warm up and then claimed to pull out due to injury. It just doesn’t pass the smell test.

That all reeks of BS, she was able to smoke yesterday but today she is not able to run enough to get a medal. Given everything that the IOC has screwed up so far, she is just covering for the IOC.

Covering for what?
@rundmm5 ай бұрын
@@daleviker5884 For the IOC running a completely crap Olympics. Seems like they screwed her by not letting her in the gates in time to warm up right. I know she said that she had time but she didn't even run. How many athletes at her skill level would not cut off parts of their body to get a medal and she didn't run because her leg didn't feel right, come on. She had one of the best times in the prelim and was coasting.

There isn’t an athlete alive that would cover for the IOC, especially not if they were cheated out of competing. You have, without a doubt, posted the single stupidest take possible here. Every athlete knows when something doesn’t feel right. It’s one thing to say “she should’ve run anyway!” when it’s not your hamstring that’s injured. The 100m dash is a race where NOTHING can go wrong if you want to win. Sha’carri had a bad start and because of it had no chance B of catching up. There’s no way to confidently run injured and expect to not exacerbate the injury.

@@AHX214 I bet you loved that opening ceremony with the Last Supper representation right? The Dark Horse of the Apocalypse with the Faceless Rider? Do something disrespectful on a 10th of the scale of this in opening ceremonies to the Muslim community or the Jewish community or the Hindu community and you will suffer a wrath that is everlasting. But you know, Protestants, Christians.. why so serious? Can't you they a joke? The joke will be on everyone that doesn't believe in Jesus whom blasphemize his name. For the only way to the everlasting Paradise of Heaven is by knowing God The Father that offered his only begwotten son, Jesus Christ, that died on the cross for all of our sins, whom has to held that commitment and will continue to for the rest of eternity.

I think the wet surface also played a factor - Sha'Carri seemed a little slippery out of the blocks and couldn't kick it into gear until it was much too late. But it wasn't just her, lots of athletes were struggling due to the rain
