Pete, I bought the identical Soundesign stereo for my parents as a Christmas gift in the 1970s. I paid $249 for it on sale. I'm sure a collector who likes old stereos would pay decent money for that unit. It brought back great memories when I saw it.

I bought one of those WWE belts from Toys R Us when they were going out of business, sold it on ebay obviously. Forgot how much I paid but the deal was too good to pass up. Some of those belts can go for $500+. One thing WWE does now is they sell the old WWF belts but with the WWE logo, so if you can find like the old Winged Eagle(last worn by Stone Cold) with the WWF logo instead of WWE that will get you more money.

Oh! 8 tracks! So hard to find these days. -I think the speakers weren’t hooked up properly if you can hear the tape playing. I have an 8 track player and the wires are super tricky.- But then the radio works, which was going to be my second bit of info - something within the player is still running the tape physically but not reading it properly. Probably the head is crappy. Unfortunate. Also, I find that sometimes the tape won’t play immediately and needs to roll over to play. I don’t know, those 8 track players can be tricky. I purchased mine refurbished for $100, so people like me are willing to pay! Just have to wait for someone who is wanting one lol.

hey I worked in Wal-Mart electronics department in the 80's. Soundesign tape players were always crap. The motors were so weak and would drag wearing out in a short time, playing too slow. Wal-Mart also sold decent stereos but the cheap ones were always the best sellers. Emerson brand was a little better. We also sold Panasonic, Technics, Pioneer and Fisher which were all good. I tried to warn people about Soundesign if they asked my advice.

The belts are official ones sold on the WWE Shop website. Be careful pricing them. There are multiple quality levels that they sell and range from $200 to $1500. Some are hard plastic & others are very close to being identical to the real ones. Those holograms and square on the back should tell which you have. It’ll say Commemorative, Replica Series or Elite Series. The design names/descriptions are below. WWE World Heavyweight Title w/AJ Styles name plates. Collectors refer to it as “The Big Logo” NXT World Title: Current design WWE US Title: Old design, they brought in a new design last year.

It's a shame that 8-track player doesn't work, I've been on a hunt for a home 8-track player. Every time I come across any 8-track player locally, it's always an old car radio/head unit that was pulled out. I don't even know why I want one, I just find oddball media formats interesting. But if I had to guess, Pete was right, either bad belts (very common) or the heads are really dirty though I'd expect to hear some audio of some sort even if the heads were gummed up. Heads could be bad, but probably a belt issue since that is extremely common and luckily fairly easy to replace on most models. There's enough enthusiast to usually find new production belts. Gotta love it.

@@brandons7272 Unfortunately not brother, I am in FL, which I sometimes think might be a reason I don't find a lot of antique electronics that are on my radar. Seems like everyone stows their old stuff in a garage somewhere, and the humidity just eats away and destroys it. I don't know if you sell things online, and I'm not sure if the profit made from selling an 8-track player would be worth the hassle of paying for shipping on one, but I am always looking out for a unit.
