Champagne court is my favorite shopping place when I was in Hong Kong. The number of watches is just spectacular. One thing I don't like about is that their prices tags did not mention whether the watch settings are factory of after-market. This brings my memory back so much. I would definitely visit Champagne court again after the Tokyo's lockdown ends (where I am living right now)

16:52 is swiss watches (HK) where i bought my rolex 116618lb back in august last year.. they have great prices and have excellent deals. Their staff are mostly female but i bought from derrick who's a great guy and kept that watch for me for nearly a month till i had time to fly down there during the riots and dealt with him. It was a very pleasant experience.

Your videos are fantastic. I have been to this mall myself several times while on work trips, dreaming of the endless possibilities. You are right about the alpha male stigma, prices are high and they don’t budge much. I saw the Alain Silberstein model in your video and remember it from approx 2yrs ago. It’s a busy mall in normal times but a lot of their stock does not move.

Arent you guys still in lock down? I was trying to book a ticket to Hong Kong but my local website said Hong Kong is still on lockdown. I also want to ask, I am new to this luxury watch thing and was planning to go to this one store to buy few Rolex and AP in TST (I know the store I wanna go from chrono24 website) so my question is should I buy all the watches (there are at least 4 rolex) in that 1 store or should I check the authorized dealer first? I hope you'll reply me soon!

The shop is called luxe ware in TST by the way

Hi Almer. Foreigners can’t fly into HK yet and HK people flying in have to observe a quarantine. I’ve seen that name Luxe Ware quite often. They seem to have all sorts of watches in demand. ADs won’t sell any steel sports in HK unless you buy other precious metal models along.
@Prabhu_njd4 жыл бұрын
Almer it all depends on what models you wanna buy and how much you are willing to pay, if you gonna buy 5 watches and intend to get a deal then i suggest you come here to singapore and you can be sure to get a much better deal.

Good concentration of stores in YMT where they’d be a bit more competitive I’d think. It’s hard to say. The displayed prices are probably not quite reliable and I’d go in to negotiate. The rootbeer is the one that would be closest to retail. The Pepsi and Batgirl are still high but tbh I’ve never bothered negotiating given they start from such a high level.

@@UptickWatchReviews Many Thanks. Looks like its a process of going in to each store and negotiate a good pice. I have my eye on a Batgirl

Thanks for the watch tour. Very fun to see! I’ve been hunting for Tudor DateDay 76213 which I understand to still be available in the Asian markets. I’ve just checked on the Carousell app and I see brand new ones from HKD 16,000 up to 20,000 so that USD 2k to 2.5k. Golden dial, linen dial, white dial and what looks like choco or black.

UptickWatchReviews thank you for the information on these! I have seen a few pop up on eBay here in the states but I wasn’t sure what a good price was compared to retail from an AD or what type of discount you could potentially get at an AD. It sounds like maybe 20% off of AD pricing. The other thing to consider is import fees on top of that if I buy from Hong Kong.

Another great video, always enjoy what you do. Would you be happy buying from one of these dealers as I can't help wondering if any of them are fakes because there's so many on offer. Keep up the great work 👍
@UptickWatchReviews4 жыл бұрын
Overall I think no worry on authenticity buying there but the risk is the condition of the movement. I remember checking out a Vacheron Chrono that literally broke right there in the shop. It’s a bit of a gamble and yes, they do often offer a warranty but once your money is with them, you’re stuck with however they accept to fix your watch meaning if it’s a very complicated piece, who knows if it’ll be properly fixed by their watchmaker. So you need to factor in that risk. Dealers like Kenwatches or Classic Watch Repair have great reputation for example. So anything recent from Rolex or in mint condition, cool, anything that shows some use and is complicated must be priced to include your possible cost of a service.
@markmanning4814 жыл бұрын
Thank you that's really useful to know 👍 BTW you have a wonderful collection. Mark

haha9413 the wealth of hong kongers has nothing to do with my statement. I’m just saying that putting all those 10k+ watches in no particular order so close together is unappealing and makes it al look like a buch of fakes from the flea market. Maybe the whole marketing strategy there is to make you believe the seller doesn’t know what he’s doing and you’ll get a great deal?

I'd see those watch stores in the 80's, when there were no mainlanders with money. Piles of $6,000+ Rolex's. The only way I could figure out what was happening was, Australians would buy jet skis, cars, boats and have large houses needed to be filled. Hong Kongers didnt have that. Seems like watches were the only thing they could spend excess money on. Plus every HK businessman needed to wear a Rolex to be taken seriously.

A lot of the luxury watch market is dealers selling to dealers selling to dealers selling to dealers. There is no end user customer. Its dealers pushing inventory to other dealers at trade shows. I talked to a big AD before lockdown and the only brands people ask for is Rolex, Patek, AP Omega and Grand Seiko. All his other brands are overpriced toxic sludge that he cant sell for a profit. good intro video for people who never loved and worked full time in HK. But the area TST is pronounced Sim Shah Schway monsieur. Least you can do living there is pronounce the name properly mate. I was always iffy on buying from those second hand dealers in Hk and elsewhere. it is those dealers who end up supplying the grey market in other countries because most mainland people prefer getting from ADs also. in fact, I think the Mainlanders and the ADs sell or trade their inventory or unworn watches to these HK guys. So many guys in China get watches as bribes or “gifts” as do their girlfriends and wives in business and transactional relationships.i think you are also a finance guy since finance guys are hung up on Daytona’s and AP and PP.
