Vespa GTS Coolant Check and Top up.
How to top up coolant on a Vespa GTS. Always do this when the engine is COLD.
Piaggio recommend flushing and replacing the Coolant every 2 years, mine is due soon but here I show you how to quickly check and top up the coolant level.
Keeping your Vespa GTS coolant level checked and topped up is very important.
This video is applicable to models Vespa GTS 125, Vespa GTS 200, Vespa GTS 250 and Vespa GTS 300.

*The coolant in my '08 Honda 'Metropolitan' never varies in terms of actual amount,though I did a 'flush & fill' this time last year...I wonder why that is?* ( *I'm 'WOT' at least 90% while riding...and the 'little beastie' has no problems hauling my 230lbs. of fat-ass around, no matter how hot it is...I would think there would some coolant-loss due high-temps., yet never encountered any as yet* ( I use a 'coolant-checker' as well whenever I peek at the reservoir tank)

I have one Gts, it is 2018, but almost never the fan sounds. Actually, only three times the fan has sounded, and it start shaking a lot. What do you think about this behavior. I never cover more than 25 kilómeters per day.

Nothing to worry about, the engine casing is outside in the air so it rarely gets too hot. When it does activate it is quite noisy. Just keep an eye on your temperature gauge, it should just stay midway, if it ever gets near the red and the tan doesn’t come on then switch it off and let it cool down.

I have commented to you before. Above... I renewed the antifreeze 1 year ago. I make additions from time to time. When I just checked, it's at max level. I don't use Vespa right now. The weather here is snowy and rainy. I will only provide electricity in December, January, February and March. Do I still need to check antifreeze? Or what should I do? Thanks

Coolant antifreeze advice for Vespa gts please? Which brand should it be? I do not use vespa in winter months, namely November, December, January, February. Spring and summer only. I've done 30,000 km. Unfortunately, my masters did not completely clean the water. I'm going to drain the water and put it all over again. After draining the water in it, is it necessary to wash it with clean normal water? How many times do I have to do this? Which brand should I use? Vespa gts 250, 2013 years, 30,000 km. Thanks

Even if you don't use it in winter you will need an anti freeze that covers winter else if it's standing somewhere it could freeze and split pipes. Not sure which anti freeze to use, best check with your local Piaggio dealer. I'm sure it's just standard stuff.

Why did you use blue? Isn't red necessary? Which brand should I buy?

If you are flushing it out and putting in a whole new anti freeze system then best check in the manual or check with Piaggio what is best for the Vespa. I’ve not ever flushed mine out before. Good luck

listenup pilgram I just used standard car coolant. You are meant to flush it out and replace the coolant every 3 years but I've never bothered.

wilson alberto it's ok to top up with water, but not too much, you need plenty of coolant as it boils at a higher temperature and helps preserve the inside of the engine.
