Lovely video! I grew up on Andøya, on Andenes. It's very special nature, and I'm happy to see that you took the trip! The berries at 06:02 are "krekling" which isn't blueberries. They are called crowberries some places. But still very tasty. We ate tons of them as kids. The cloudberries are my favourite. The cloudberries weren't done yet, so they are quite sour and hard until they are done. They become orange as oranges (!!) when done. And much sweeter.

Looking to visit Norway on my bike sometime in the near future, knowing that Norway is expensive, what budget should I aim for, factoring in Basic accommodation and food, travelling to Lofoten from Ijmuiden and back. Great videos.

It depends like always how much time you schedule (petrol is always a big cost point too and the more Kilometers a day you do, the more expensive it gets). It depends as well if you travel alone or together - we could for example share costs for our accommodation because we are two! My guess is that you should calculate about 50 euros for a cheap hotel, 20 more for food. But it’s of course as well possible to spend not much for food if you cook yourself and don’t dine out. If you want to travel as cheap as possible without camping I highly recommend to book accommodation early (we didn’t do so, because I never do), because otherwise you have to take whatever is left (especially on Lofoten) and that’s mostly not the cheapest option. ☺️ or use options like couch surfing/hostels! Possibilities are endless! 😍

Enjoyed it again. I did also a trip around this island, not planned it because we had normaly a whale watching excusion when we were on Lofoten started from Sto. The wind was to heavy so they didn't sail that day.

Oh that’s too sad! But riding over the island is great too!

Shhhhhhh.....don’t tell people! Vesterålen needs to be our little secret because it’s not as popular. 😆😆 I’m kidding. It’s a beautiful place to visit and I highly recommend it. Not as many people visit Vesterålen as other places in Norway so it’s not as busy. Thanks for sharing and you do beautiful videos! Hei til alle mine venner og familie i Bø!! 🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴

I actually have to admit that I sometimes think: “hmmm, should I share that beautiful place with other people.” But then it’s as well pretty nice if they discover the same place again and have completely different experiences! But yes, vesteralen is a perfect little secret - and senja in the next episode is too!!! 😍

Nice video from Vesterålen. I have to correct you on some things. At 6:01 you are eating crowberries, not blueberries. The cloudberry was sour because it was not ripe. Høyvika beach is not surrounded by the 700-meter high mountain Kvasstinden. Kvasstinden is the highest mountain on Andøya, but is located in the southern part of Andøya. The mountain you see by Høyvika beach is the famous peak Måtind and it is 408 meter high. You missed two beautiful areas of Vesterålen islands; Bø and Øksnes. Areas located on the west part of the islands. Many guests forget to visit these parts of Vesterålen islands, which is very sad.
