I did the same trip at the and of last July and ride the Atlantic Ocean Road and even for me was the first day whitout rain. I also skipped Trollstigen for the same reason. Then the weather was always sunny and I enjoyed at full the roads of Norway. !!! Bye and thanks for remind me that very exciting trip !!!

After all my hairs turned gray, I resolved myself to avoid, whenever possible, all lands that are known to experience lots of rain. The sun is this motorcyclist's favorite traveling companion. Happy Thanks Giving to you and your loved ones, Lea.

Luckily I still have a lot non-gray hairs left - so I better use my time wisely in all rainy countries now 😂. No, I understand you - but I am still so happy that I could see how stunning Norway is - even if it was raining so much! We were as well very unlucky - heard from other travelers who only traveled two days ahead of us who had sunshine all the time. Happy thanksgiving to you too!

That hotel looks absolutely stunning! You really deserved that after 6 days of rain for sure. Nice Testarossa you were parked by, the only car I love as much as my bikes. Despite the beautiful countries in Scandinavia I must admit I didn't want to return after one trip only due to the terrible weather, I spent nearly as much time on maintenance (bike and me) as riding! Your music choice was perfect. We have a similar name for the weather.........April Showers. Thanks for sharing, a lovely edit.
@Got2Go4 жыл бұрын
It’s very funny because I nearly forgot how rainy it was meanwhile (I am very good in only remembering the nicest things 😂). And I think there are two more episodes in the rain - and then we had unbelievable good weather all the ride through Finnland and Sweden. So in my memory it was not bad. But then I see the videos and think „uh, nine days in the rain straight - not nice!!!“ 😂

Really enjoy your videos. Very well produced and filmed beautifully. It is like being on the adventure myself. Actually did part of the adventure in Norway in august 2019 on my 2008 GS. Drove from Bergen and up north and east - Atlantic road, Trollstigen, Geiranger, Strynefjell. Then south to Laerdalssoeyri, Lysebotn and Stavanger. Amazing solo trip with tent. And I was so lucky - perfect weather and sun most of the time - only three hours of rain during the whole trip in Norway. I have to go back - also want to see the country further north - Lofoten and so on. Ride safe.

Yes it’s such a beautiful place - you should go back and do the north, I liked it even more than the south of Norway!

Good decision to chase mister blue sky, it’s hard to find motivation to ride In the rain day after day. Especially when you have to leave such a nice hotel. It looked reassuringly expensive but worth it I’m sure! The ocean road looked fab, short but sweet. I bet you can’t wait to get back to the heat and dust of Africa😀. Have a good weekend Leah 🍷🍷.

I certainly understand your decision to get out of the typical fall weather. Unfortunately, it meant that you missed out on some of the best roads in Norway, which is the rest of Trollstigen that you could (and I think planned to) have taken after Ålesund. I think this is a far more interesting, fun and beautiful road than the short and somewhat disappointing Atlanterhavsvegen. I suggest driving to Ålesund from the south on Trollstigen via Geiranger, which you did. But after Ålesund, take road 650 to Valldal and then turn onto road 63 to rejoin Trollstigen. Nice views and more excellent serpentine roads await. After you're back down on "ground level", you can either continue northwards through Åndalsnes if you want to stay in fjord country, or you can continue eastwards towards several national parks (Dovrefjell, Rondane, Jotunheimen) and then continue, or not, towards Lillehammer and Oslo.

Very inspiring

It’s very funny though: I had rain once during my one month stay in Australia - and it was when I drove the great ocean road. The wind was terrible, I have never experienced that strong gusty winds ever when riding a motorcycle and then it started to pour down - I think it was one of the worst weather conditions I ever drove my motorcycle in. But then the weather was perfect the next 29 days 😁. Would so love to come back and explore more of the Australian outback (yes, but Africa first, can’t as well wait to finally go to South Africa 😍)

@Got2Go4 жыл бұрын
Yes, some very good seafood, there will come up a few shots from our food in the episode after next! 😍 And I do like the gsa for roads like this - at one point I will make a more Detailed Review. But I would never take it to Africa for example. It’s good for easy off-road and places you can easily get spare parts or call a tow truck - but we had some issues (will come as well here in the episodes) with the keyless ride - no Clue what to do if something like that happens in Africa...
