Thank you for your words..You described my life for the last 4 months. I requested my Primary Care Dr. send me to ENT a month ago who did a VNG test, a CT Scan and diagnosed with VN earlier this week. I use Flonase in am and pm , Claratin and Tylenol Arthritis for anti inflammatory. It is 95% better , only a brief woozie when I lay on one side, but your words give me hope . When you described going into stores..I shouted YES, someone knows how I feel. I am much older but felt insecure watching my grandchildren so I give you props for your mom skills with this condition. I also have osteoarthritis is my neck with bones spurs..chiropractic adjustment helps too I pray that since this you are fully recovered...gives me hope 💓

I just wanted to say thanks for your story. Many doctors didn't take me seriously, it took a physio therapist to diagnose me with this to finally get somewhere. People truly don't know what's it's like but now I'm a lot better I still feel a bit here and there but I'm currently doing vestibular rehabilitation. It's crazy how your ears can do this to you.

Dear Cat, I am sitting here with tears in my eyes because I have had this problem off and on for years and no one offered help. I am currently dealing with it again for the last year. Like you I have been to every doctor and had all the tests. You described it perfectly. I am a portrait artist and I couldn't complete a commission because my eyes would dance back and forth, I have lost ten pounds and fight to stay active and happy. It was one of my student that heard me describe my symptoms and told me that it sounded like vestibular neuritis. I found you and realized that it was what I had. Thank you for your video .

Hi! My wife sent this video to me, telling me I was going through the same thing you've been through. I am a month in with the symptoms, most probably due to stress, anxiety attacks and expectations of being a first time parent/dad. I developed tinnitus last September, but my ringing in the ears have improved a lot, from an 8-10 to a soft 2-3, sometimes a faint 1 for the whole day. I also went to 12+ doctors now and none of them helped me at all. I am also a Christian, and I believe it is only God who can totally heal me from this ordeal. If it is not too much for you, please pray for me as I go through the road of recovery. God gave me so many verses and personal words of encouragement, saying that He is going to heal and restore me (Isaiah 53:5, Matthew 21:22-23). Thank you so much and God bless! Happy to hear you're almost a hundred percent. Believing for total healing with you! Be blessed!

I am 2 months into this. Even typing this is a chore! I went to the ER at first, then to the ENT, same tests, then onto the hospital because they thought I was having a stroke. Finally after being diagnosed with Lyme Disease they let me go with antibiotics and Diazepam. Left Florida for a week and got into the Cleveland Clinic for a day. Avascular Neuritis. And its not over yet! I asked to be made stronger, and God gave me exactly that. I'm gonna grab my cane, and go for walk! Thank You!!! Thanks be to God, and a loving "confused" family.

Kept up with the VRT visual stabilization exercises, calming nervous system. The VRT exercises may make you feel WORSE at first which for anyone reading this please do not give up. It gets better. I cannot guarantee you will be completely normal but it will get better.

Thank you for making this video. I had VN 6 years ago and it went away after 3.5 extremely difficult months. I had a 30% deficit in my right ear and doing the vestibular rehab exercises helped. Anyway, I was going through a very stressful time just 2 weeks ago and it triggered a relapse (decompensation) where my brain has "forgotten" the adaption it learned. I'm resuming the exercises but it's getting worse (before it gets better, I hope) and it's scary all over again. Just wanted to let you know to always manage your stress well to prevent possible relapses. Also, to please pray for me, Steven, and I will pray for you too! Thank you!

I saw an ophthalmologist, Neurologist and Ent. After 1 month of not knowing what is happening to me, the ENT doctor told me it is Vestibular Neuritis. There is no word to describe the dizziness, I feel like people don't understand what I trying to describe. I had it for the first time for 3 straight days and slow recovery after that. 11/07/18 since this day I haven’t driven a car , until recently I decided to drive again. I feel a pressure in my head when I try driving and then anxiety kicks in. Doctors tell me I have to train my brain again. I’m 90% better. Thank you God! I’ve been driving nearby distances. ER didnt know but my family dr called it VN but was not familiar or confident. Took 3 months to get into ENT and he was a moron. That was Dr Melvin in Asheville, NC. He told me I could see someone smarter and I did. Wake Forest Baptist Hospital has a balance and dizziness center. The Department Head is Dr Alan Desmond and knew exactly what was up. He was able to do more testing and determine I had 57% permanent damage to right vestubular nerve. He knew exactly what I was feelung bc a year previous he had the exact same thing happen to him. He recognized the symptoms and recorded his journey and progress for use in teaching his med students. Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy is really the only thing that helps this condition once permanent damage is done.

I am so glad that I clicked on you today because you have described my symptoms exactly! I have been struggling with dizziness for about 3 months now. It has been very scary due to the fact that I can not go out and enjoy life without feeling dizziness in open spaces such as department stores and I even felt like I would pass out during my daughter's 5th grade graduation. I has been a nightmare and you are right that Meclizine does not cure vertigo. I took it for a while but my symptoms still persisted and I unable to drive at the moment due to dizziness while operating my vehicle. I too feel numbness and believe that anxiety exacerbates the problem as well. I am about to go and see an ENT in a few days. You have given me hope and now I know that this is not just in my head. Please pray for me as I pray for you in Jesus name. God bless!

Candace Taylor hi Candace, here’s a great scripture to stand on to help deal with the anxiety. Repeat to yourself constantly, right in on post it notes on your mirrors, fridge anywhere as a constant reminder❤️ Philippians 4: 6-7 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

This could be me talking!! The dizziness gives you anxiety. Then you’re hyper vigilant when you take anything. And you literally have to walk close to any walls when you’re out, even walking the dog. And going shopping with bright colored things swirling around you. Sometimes I just stagger out of there to my car in a panic. It is scary. You going and doing those things was a form of vestibular rehab. You pushed yourself. You have to push through.

Almost two months in. Felt so hopeless until I found your video! This is such a horrible thing to deal with. It's turned my world upside down. I'm hopeful ill get better soon. I would love more then anything for you to pray for me! It's such a dark and lonely illness that no one understands unless they have it. You start to think that this is your new normal and that you won't ever get better. I've been to the emergency room 8 times thinking I'm having a stroke or a heart attack. I've never in life had panic attacks or anxiety attacks until this illness. It's also brought me closer with God and for that I think that's why he's allowed this to happen to me. He knew I needed him. Thank you for this video!!

This is day 6 of this and I am constantly praying for it to go away. I've been bedridden for these days. The last 2 days I can make my way to the kitchen and bathroom. I was in the hospital for the first 4 days where I was treated for dehydration and anti vomiting medication. I am dizzy and tired from a trip to the kitchen or bathroom . I can't wait for this to go. I've noticed one eye is always moving even while closed and I've been pressing on a point near to my eye to numb it and calm it down. It is kind of in the socket of my left eye. I know weird , but it has been helping today. The worst part was I couldn't even watch anything at first , only listen to videos and such. I'm doing a tad better now, but totally not able to work. I can't wait to be normal again and I am swearing to not be ungrateful about my health or anything like working because I totally did not like it and now I realize I should have been thankful for my job and my health. I want it back so much. I plan to not take life for granted and to show gratitude to God always for my blessings. Godwilling we can be healed quickly. I do not wish this on anyone.

I have had 3 bouts of vertigo in this 5 weeks....but have the heavy feeling in my head, the feeling of falling down all the time, I have tried motion sickness patches, Prednisone, alergy meds, etc....I was given Atavan for the anxiety but do not want to be addicted to this medicine. I delt with this for 5 months and the symptoms were severe and agonizing.Praying to the lord jesus christ helped me so much in understanding that i must be patient through my trials and tribulations there are lessons to learn through are hardships. The lord led me to things that really helped me and other people that i told this to said that these things really helped them also. Ashwaganda for the anxiety, b12 for the energy, Magnesium for the brainfog memory loss + once a day multivitamin, potassium and it was very hard to sleep so i would make a tea before bed made from valerian root and Camomile. Give it some weeks for your body to adjust.

Mine started around August 1st of last year (2018). I was in Chicago and it was like 105 degrees outside and I was in line for the sears tower and I started getting this same thing where I felt like I was moving but it was hard to explain. I thought it was like dehydration because it was so hot out and I started freaking out, which made it worse because there’s like hundreds of people in line. I had to ems called they check my blood sugar and everything and it came back normal. I literally had to leave Chicago and go back to Ohio which was a 5 hour drive and the whole way home I had those symptoms. I was thinking to myself like why am I feeling like this because I had the AC on in the car and I thought it was just dehydration- which I know now obviously wasn’t. I actually play football for my college and I had practice starting soon and the symtoms kind of subsided a little I was glad because camp started August 7th and this happened to me around August 3rd. Someone I don’t know how but I made it through camp which is a 5 am thing till 9pm thing for two weeks. I just pushed through it but like I said the symptoms kind of subsided a little but it was still there. I eventually couldn’t take it anymore when it came to the first game and i felt like I was going to fall over and pass out which I wasn’t going to pass out obviously because it’s an inner ear disorder not because I was dehydrated. I was taken inside the locker room and put in an ice bath because the trainers thought it was heat illness. Of course the bath didnt help and they later said it was just anxiety. At the time I knew it wasn’t anxiety but now looking back it was apart of it because of how this makes you feel. I was also having tingling down my arms and in my legs which on the second day of camp-forgot to mention, that I went to the ER because I was having tingling in my whole body every time I took a foot step. I sat out of course from the first game till about 4 weeks left of the season since my symptoms kind of subsided again and it also wasn’t as hot since It was like late September or early October of 2018 by now. I was still having the vertigo and I was like hopeless. While I sat out of football for 6 weeks I had heart testing and brain MRIs because the doctors thought I could of had MS, which makes sense because when you put the two and two together (tingling and vertigo) it sounds a lot like MS. I somehow made it through the rest of the reason until winter lifting of this year January 2019 when It was just so bad and I was having like internal tremors. It was so weird I felt like my whole body was shaking but you couldn’t see it shaking and it would be hard to sleep at night. I literally thought I had like some type of nervous system issue but I’m starting to realize it’s just Aniety now, which is funny because all my doctors said it was just anxiety and I thought they were crazy because we start to normalize this feeling of anxiety and the feeling just becomes normal when you have this type of inner ear disorder. I had an emg/ nerve conduction study to check for the tingling which I had anxiety leading up to the test watching vids on here about people’s experiences. Of course he test came back normal and I was just like wtf. I kept doing research and I finally came to the conclusion I should call about seeing an ENT which by now I was pretty much hopeless but desperate for an answer. They did a hearing test first before I could see the ent and the test came back normal. I went to the ent and he referred to me a vestibular specialist. This has helped out enourmaously the specialist said it sounded like a viral vestibular neuritis that hasn’t healed all the way and that I should do these exercises for it. I did the exercises everday since March 2019 and now it is July and I still have symptoms. About a month and a half into the exercises the vertigo when about 99% away I thought it was just about gone and the shit CAME BACK. I keep doing my exercises which make me dizzy af at first but your brain is supposed to learn from it and fix it but mine right now just hasn’t been cooperating. It was actually helping for so long up to the past couple days and I just made an appointment today to see the same specialist since they discharged me. I really hope I can figure I out

So overjoyed that I saw your video. I am currently dealing with this..and it's been a little over a month. And I am very,...very...slowly getting better. The last two days have been bad,..as the issue can come and go. I noticed that I now feel chest heaviness like the feeling of high blood pressure,..but I think it's part of the anxiety or I might have to watch what I eat. I woke up with a vertigo attack a little over a month ago...and from then on I have lived a life of constant dizziness and headaches...unbalanced and visual issues..plus my left ear keeps feeling somewhat full and heavy at night...with slight pain. I have prayed and cried several times ,..I have also gone to church and light up a candle to our Virgen de Guadalupe. You mentioned that your face got pale ..and that's how I am every day for the best part of the morning. I was tried sleeping on my back,...and not turning side to side in bed,...but it only works when it wants to. ...because since the last two days ,..I've been having chest heaviness and it wakes me up startled. I also force myself to do stuff.....such as walking at night...and on very rare occasions I go to the local casino with my boyfriend....just to make him happy....as he has been my Caregiver si ce this entire ordeal started. He has to keep an eye on me...and he cooks and does the laundry and the dishes. I worked two jobs...a full-time job as a housekeeper for a nurse recruitment agency and a gig two nights a week cleaning offices at night. And as of August 11 I had to quit both of them and requested my primary physician to put me on temporary disability. I am 49 years old and have two adult children..one is 30 and the other is 26. I want and need to get well again so I can go back to work,...because my 30 year old son has slight mental issues and he depends solely on me ,...financially and emotionally. I have come to the conclusion that my life will never be the same again,...and that will eventually loose my home and my vehicle....that I have to return to the dealership. But I. ..really don't care about the material things at this point. I just want to get better and at least be done with the dizziness . I don't mind the unbalanced or the headaches,...I just want the swaying and the constant severe dizziness to stop. I am a single mom...and I need to survive this medical problem to take care of my adult child. I now asked if you can please add me to your prayer list. 🙏 My name is Maria Dolores Nuñez. ⚘

Wow. I am so glad to see this video of yours. I have been struggling for years now. Last year was the peak until this year. I've had check ups with ENT and my 1st doctor was 'useless' he just said there was nothing wrong with me and paid a lot. This year, met a new ent doctor and finally thought I could get some help because, your story says it all. It's driving me nuts. Did an audio test, CT scan and VNG. Doctor suspects Meniere's, BPPV and Vestibular Migraine. Audio test showed abnormal right ear results, CT scan was all normal, VNG showed abnormal right ear results and suggested VN. After that, that's it. My world tore apart when my doctor said it's irreversible. That means, it'll be with me forever. 😭 Since then my anxiety turned depression and I am still coping and trying to accept all these fact. But it seems hard. It's really hard having this condition when nobody understands what we're going through. I never cried about what is happening to me until today when I read comments here where people experience the same thing. Reality striked that there's a chance it will stick with me forever. I just feel like I wasn't diagnosed properly since I have symptoms, such as tinnitus, that for me, doesn't fit into VN. I think it's another condition or maybe more.

I cannot believe how similar our stories are. I was also told it was just vertigo, given Meclizine and it made me feel worse. I have been to the doctor three times in two weeks and have also ended up in the ER twice. It is terrifying not to know what is wrong. I also had an MRI come back normal. They gave me Ativan but I do not like to take prescriptions unless I absolutely need them, so I haven’t taken it. I am on my way to my first ENT appointment this week. What an absolute nightmare this is. The anxiety that comes with it is unbearable and this experience has been so isolating. It really teaches you to advocate for yourself and to keep speaking up until the doctors can make sense of your symptoms. I was finally told it was labrynthitis, but I am sure the ENT will give me more information this week. Thank you for giving me hope that this will be gone at some point. It is so depressing not to be able to work or to participate in everyday activities. I hope to be able to leave my house soon without feeling so dizzy and afraid I’m going to faint! So kept going threw different medications and nothing worked and most made it worse so I kept going back and worth to different doctors still not getting anywhere finally a doc said you need to see a therapist. So I went for a couple visits and she told me she deals with anxiety and panic disorder and she thinks mine is due to something that is in my inner ear and said I needed to go to Boston eye and ear and see a ENT so I went and he set up mri and did some testing and everything was fine and I was still having the symptoms so he referred me to a otonenerouligest at Boston eye and ear and they did some hearing test which was perfect. So they did a eng/ vng test and that's where they found out that I had vestibular damage in my left side with. And a thing called vestibular migraine. And now I am going to a vestibular rehab therapist said it'll be awhile before I get better but this should help. I hope this helps anybody. Wish me luck Daniel Bryant I'll be praying for you all also.

I have two, things that affect me, stress and diet. And I’m convinced that the cause of those two things is acid reflux. Stress gives me acid reflux and eating poorly or to much gives me acid reflux. I have done a 14 day course of acid meds and I am now about 85% improved. The theory is that acid gets into my Eustachian tubes in my left ear. That ear always feels full even though doctors can’t see anything

Thank you for posting this! I got sick at the exact same time you did last year and went through everything you did with er’s and doctors and specialist and calling out of work right down to being scared to take medicine even for headaches. I still suffer with this but did get better for a while and relapsed. I never got as bad as I originally was and I’ve dealt with vertigo off and on for years so I didn’t get nervous at first but after MONTHS I became a devastated. They sent me to VRT but I didn’t like the exercises so now I’m on here looking for different ones. Can you post a video of what you did to recover please?

I have had this horrific problem for several years off and on. I believe it is a seasonal thing. I typically get it twice a year and it can last anywhere from a month to two months. You look fine to family and friends and Dr’s but Inside you are in absolute misery, depression and want to rip your hair out and just want it to stop. Constant brain fog, dizziness, lightheadedness, fullness in ears, panic attack’s, heart palpitations and anxiety attacks. Currently on my second round of Methylprednisolone & Valacyclovir and symptoms have not stopped. Started first week of December and have not subsided yet. I quit smoking and quit drinking and changed my diet entirely and symptoms still have not stopped. Dr’s were little to no help and all the money spent on Dr and medical bills yielded no answers other than “It’s viral and it will go away on its own”. I would not wish these symptoms on my worst enemy and pray God will please take this feeling away from me. I go to bed every night hoping that I will wake up and feel normal tomorrow and I never do. Life can not continue like this otherwise I fear I will have to quit my job and never leave my house again.

I understand and I'm so sorry. I'm going through the same thing. Off and on for years but this is the first year that I realized that it's more serious than I thought. It's been 3 months and every morning I wake up and have to take my Valium and other things. The ear pain is so frustrating and depressing. I've had a MRI, Ear exams, ENT appointments, 3 ER visits, Blood work, Massages, and I go to the Audiologist tomorrow. I've had multiple opinions on my condition and the fact that the valium is providing some relief my main doctor thinks it may be due to post viral inflammation to the vestibular nerve. If I wait to take my valium my vertigo and ear pain hits me like a brick to the head.

Thanks for this video. Not diagnosed yet but 90 percent sure I have this. I have all the symptoms, just went to the GP and they said there was fluid in my ear, if it doesn't get better in a week I need to see an ENT. Im on like day 4 or 5 with this condition. It really sucks. The vertigo is really making it hard to relax or sleep. I pray to God for healing for me and anyone else dealing with this issue.

Hope this helps you like it did for me. Ashwaganda for anxiety, b12 for energy, Magnesium for the brain fog, Potassium, garlic, Selenium and to help me sleep i made a tea with valerian root and camomile. Give your body a chance to adjust to it and it will start to work. This recovery unfortunately is measured in months and not in days and weeks. Also cut out all processed sugar that crap is bad for you and cut down on your sodium intake, the vestibular nerve is inflammed so any natural herb or food that has anti inflammation properties is good .Eat clean. Be patient in your trials and tribulations dont lose hope pray to Christ and he will heal but remember its not on our watch.
