Fizzlers can be useful tools. The actual solution was to get the cube in the room with the conveyance beam, touch a fizzler to close all portals, activate the laser receptor to turn off the fizzlers, place a blue portal under the cube pointing at the laser receptor (that portal is a null portal) , go to the room where the door is, put the orange portal on the ceiling panel with the deadly lasers and quickly move the orange to the floor panel. The cube will go back out the blue and up into the conveyance beam.

Yeah you're right, seems so obvious and embarrassing watching back now, but for some reason i completely forgot that the whole null portal move thing even existed, don't know why as i've used it in a bunch of maps before but i completely blanked on it in this one, luckily the map had a "idiot fallback solution" in it too :D As always, thank you for watching and commenting

Looks to me like the intended solution for the first part is a setup involving a null portal, I'll leave it at that.

2:05 I always thought those 2 “giant pieces of science” are the energy pellet dispensers from portal 1.

they are, they've also been used as where lasers come from, i always refer to them as giant pieces of science because you see them used so often in hammer maps as giant props to fill and detail space in the map design like this :) Thank you for watching and commenting too!

Thanks for playing my map! Glad to see people are still enjoying it almost 11 years later. :) I can confirm your solution for the first half is unintended, and the intended solution uses a null portal as suggested by many other commenters. The second half went exactly as intended.

Whoever you are 👋 3:07 - You've now become a vestibule yourself 6:19 - Too bad for you, I just figured out how to solve this puzzle, and now will spend the rest of the video pointing out ways in which you missed it (joking of course) 11:32 - The funny thing is that you don't know what you're missing, cuz what you're missing is _missing_ portals :) 17:36 - Aww man, so close to a more elegant solution :( 24:12 - I'll take that mantle then: I think what you were meant to do was to take the cube to the funnel side, fizzle your portals intentionally, position the cube to get rid of the fizzler, place a portal under the cube (the portal would be closed without a partner), go over to the flingy loopy area, place the other portal on the ceiling, and as the cube falls, quickly replace it on the floor so the cube flings up to the funnel. Of course, that would only work if that was indeed the intended solution, otherwise there's a chance the cube would just float over the portal due to an ancient well-known glitch Great video, very vestibular! Or tubular, or whatever it is that [STATE NAME NOW] says these days :)

0:15 i don't know either, it was on a sticky note from a comment request lol, past me decided it should be done 0:32 which one? 3:07 ...idiot more like. 6:19 i honestly expected you do this with the majority of my videos ;) 11:32/17:36/24:12 it seems to obvious and embarrassing watching back now, but for whatever stupid reason, i just completely forgot the whole null portal move thing even existed, i have no idea why, i know i've used it in a bunch of maps before now, but just completely blanked on it in this one. luckily, either intentional design wise of not, this map had an "idiots fallback" solution :D lol Thanks dude❤

17:10 I think the solution is: 1. put the cube down (in the exit door „room“) and deactivate the fizzlers 2. place a portal underneath the funnel 3. place the other portal underneath the cube while being in the exit door „room“ 4. while the cube is on the other side, place the same portal as in step 3 on the ceiling 5. place the same portal as in step 3 and 4 on the floor once the cube falls out of the ceiling portal That should be it. You are right, cube catching like that isnt normally the solution to puzzles

I clicked on this map to play it and found out I had already finished and favorited it. I can see why it's a good map. I also ended up finding 2 solutions to the first chamber, neither of which required serious ninja moves. Possible spoilers: I believe when I first played I used a cube bob, and the second time I went with a null portal.
