The Lamenters are probably the closest to “good guys” you get in 40k. Even when counting the Salamanders.

It's the simple facts that, 1. They're already tragic as a successor chapter of the Blood Angels, the space Marines with the worst afflictions. And 2. In spite of their mistreatment, and in spite of the fact that they gained a dower demeanor, they not only never turned traitor, but they gave all that they are, and would ever be to the Imperium. Even if it was in ways those pushing pencils couldn't appreciate. They wanted nothing more than to help the PEOPLE. Not the Imperium for the Imperium's sake. The individual. It's almost as tragic as Malcador the Hero's sacrifice. A man who gave of his entire being, not for the world. Not for some grander design. No. His sacrifice was made for his best friend.

The whole thing with the "Badab Rebellion" is that the Lamenters had an Inquisitor going "Nah, These dudes are good." And that just doesn't happen easily

Huh. Just noticed a mistake in the video. The Ultramarines successor chapter the narrator talks about is actually the MortiFACTors, not the MortiFICATors. As far as I can tell from a quick wiki-dive and look at the list of known chapters (loyalist and otherwise), there is no Space Marine chapter called the "Mortificators".
