Always imitated. Never duplicated. I applaud you, Vetements for always taking risks. So many people out there copy and steal your designs, but I always know you were the first to do it.

If you look into the collection it's intending to be anti-systematic for the average viewer it might be aesthetically unpleasing but it's very successful conceptually. Notice the one jacket with the international organization emblem then the other one that read "genetically modified" Even their price point is a statement, vetements is a social experiment

@RICHARDGERMANE Жыл бұрын
@@beowulf4808 I mean if it were cheaper sadly I don't people would be as interested and also the materials would less luxurious if that were the case.
@pradaphile Жыл бұрын
@@beowulf4808 i think the higher prices make the irony more clear. High prices are a trend in pretty much every designer brand and vetements is just a mockery of high end fashion, whilst being high end at the same. I love vetements and wish prices would be lower but i think the higher prices make sense by not making sense

Loving the collection. New creative ideas and standout garments. Especially loved the different magnitudes of various attitudes shown off here, playing off yet even more stereotypes and idiosyncratic garments commonly associated with a particular entity ( the soldier, the punk, the goth, the office worker, metalhead, athlete, wealthy elderly boomer, the working class poverty figure, and so on...) and contorting the aesthetic representation to great exaggerating lengths. Excellent work, Demna & Co.!

I agree that this collection does change the game in the fashion industry, but not in a revolutionary way. More like a bloody reality check. Kinda feels like a mockery to society both style and consumer wise. The concept was stereotypes and each one (although I couldn't identify all) was like a half ass thought of what the stereotype would wear. NGL I loved some pieces of this collection but if I want to buy Clothes (literally VETEMENTS) the prices of these looks are gonna make me roll hella hard if I see someone wearing it. So applaud VETEMENTS for making statements by making "just clothes"
@Americansikkunt5 жыл бұрын
Jay Agpaoa If that sums up Vetements as a brand ethos, they have time to improve. All the stereotypes they use are native to Eastern Europe, and are probably more thought-out than you realize. So I'm not sure I agree completely. You even said yourself, you can't identify half the stereotypes. That just goes to show how niche some they are.

The only things that I find a bit weird is that Demna has chosen models with ''casual'' style and average faces bodies etc... This would translate better if the prices were actually affordable or at least below £500 I'd say... I mean yeah I've read that it costs a lot to make but I still think the price is like 90% profit... If he's reaching out to the ''average'' person via his show and wants to break down stereotypes then surely something's wrong. If your line is so unaffordable, hey why not have Bill Gates and Kanye West modelling for you then eh?
