Welcome to the Fourth Reich. I'm in Sydney Australia and we are in hard lockdown for that doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon. The cops are just doing whatever they want totally disregarding people who have mask exemptions. Smashing old people to the ground. Ripping young women of trains arresting innocent people. And a Minster for health who was asked about the accidental Covid injections of 160 students who just goes so what mistakes happen get over it. God help us all.

*Sorry ATA, but if we want to grade Mr. James, his intoxication is merely a part of the complete picture ("totality of circumstances" in legalese), and we can judge his actions in a manner that discards his impairment. He gets a B: he remained calm and collected, despite being accosted by an actual tyrant. He would rate an A or A Plus had he chosen to remain silent, however, he did everything else correctly, and in an appropriate manner. Hopefully, Mr. James will sue the department and force them to recognize Colorado law, since their job is **_supposed_** to be the enforcement of that law.* *I specifically recognize Mr. James' decision to call for a ride (Uber) in light of his intoxication, an act which benefits both himself personally, and society as a whole. Mr. James' decision that he was too intoxicated to drive is literally "doing the right thing", and the officer's decision to harass Mr. James under these circumstances rates another "F Minus" for creating conditions which may lead Mr. James or others to choose getting off the street as quickly as possible in order to avoid local police aggression, rather than calling for a ride as Mr. James did on this video.* *Mr. James' behaviour during this video is **_exemplary!_*

@neurotransmitter this is not about just wearing a mask. If that's all it was about then it wouldn't be so bad. My son has a disability and has a mask exemption but with the cops refusing to acknowledge medical exemptions. I'm not going to have him manhandled or injured by them. We are not getting the EUA injections either. And I'm not a dude.

As ata mentioned the officer had several other options and chose the worst one. If the cop was so worried, wouldn't he just give him a ride home? ALL officers are corrupt. It doesn’t matter if they personally treat people respectfully and follow the law and rules. It doesn’t matter how good of a cop a person is if they don’t expose the bad behavior of the other officers they work with and witness doing things they shouldn’t. If a cop were one that did expose others, they wouldn’t be a cop for very long at all. They would be forced out in a hurry. Just ask any cop who has ever exposed corruption. Any cop who has been a cop for a substantial length of time is not a good cop. Period. It’s not possible to remain on a force with other cops and not either be corrupt yourself or fail to expose the corruption and bad acts of others. It cannot and does not happen.

Anyway, they took me in under the same "protective custody" claims made in this video. While being cuffed, I was literally staring at the illuminated sign to my hotel, pleading with the officers to just let me go there to sleep. They threw me in a third party detox facility with no charges, and I couldn't be released until I was "deemed safe to leave the facility by a licensed counselor." God it always angers me when they say all those be excuses. Like you're intoxicated... Yeah cause it's legal to go to a bar and drink alcohol. Public intoxication should only apply if I'm causing mayhem, fighting Or endangering the public. At a closed business... Yes and have you witnessed me doing a crime? Do you have a verified person claiming I commit a crime at said business. Sitting on a bench by a business now not a crime. The last one urks me even more. "high crime area" doesn't mean you get to arrest anyone for whatever you feel like. It means a more constant police presence is needed. If you a officer WITNESSES a crime then do your thing. My other hated statement we got a call... Is that a call attached to a real person or just a phrase you use to do stuff you normally wouldnt be permitted to do? These "calls" better have a person attached to them or the blame needs to fall on the officers.

With this officer 100%. That’s why he wanted to detain him for his own protection. And the excuses the officer gives are revealing that it’s basically to protect himself from any blowback, but we can’t hold him responsible for failing to protect us. Some officers would have taken the guys word and stopped there. Those videos don’t infuriate anyone so we won’t not see them as that’s how it’s supposed to work. But this officer acts as the exception and to protect ourselves the general public needs to treat all officers with the same set of rules and assume the worst actions and intentions from them. Don’t speak to them, don’t cooperate, don’t call unless a clear crime against you has been committed, assert your rights, shut down any requests for ID, demand a lawyer be present ....know your local agencies policies and local laws specifically on the sinister six and the elements that make them up and if you engage in activities outside the six know relevant laws surrounding them and any tangential laws they can try to hook you on because this officer displays his pettiness at doing just that.

Are uber's involved in a lot of accidents, I really don't get what's the problem with letting the man take an uber home, does everyone need a designated driver because technically your not allowed to be intoxicated period? This exact situation with cops happened to my neighbor and after he got home from his Uber ride, he looked online for a good lawyer and sued the police department for $78,990.00 and he won his case. This guy needs to lawyer up. This is an easy win.

@Alex the Angel most lawyers take cases like this for a percentage of the payout from the state. So you don’t need much money to sue them if the lawyers can see you got a case

this one of the most american comments ive seen in a while...maybe this mentality is why your country is in disarray :D in europe, youd just show the app to the cop and everyone would be on their way in 10 seconds.

@mark tamayo yeah, thats why im saying they are nuts. Im not from UK, im from central Europe, but yeah, UK is going too far with those types of things. Wouldnt happen in Germany, France, Poland, Czech Republic etc. Im mad at UK for different reasons tho, now i have to pay customs when shipping something from there :D
