Crunchy button is easily resolved with graphite powder. Ewheels gave me a new button panel but I didn't need it. 700 miles on my new wheel and it is problem free.

No sealant is a mistake, that is your last line of water resistance defence (aka dropped in a puddle), other teardowns show silicone there. I would add it as its not something you need to undo often, and stays in tack for tire changes.

@@nomadmusk Leaperkim actually improved this design learning from the flaws of the patton! You can see that there is a raised metal wall around the board and it's no longer flat like the patton is. So they no longer need to rely on silicon to seal the cover around the board, only a bit of silicone is applied where the battery wires come out

@@brianonwheels yes definitely a great improvement for rain proofing, but idk if I'd trust it if I fell in a puddle, or if it fell off a little stream bridge. The reason it was there in the first place was because that compartment is not water tight.

I would recommend disconnecting battery before gaining access to controller compartment. Just dropping a screw on your controller could make fireworks.

oh the lcd flat wiring some of it disengaged you need to replace it; also the water will sip in once you open it and assemble back, to make sure put a silicone compound around the lcd and whole cover fittings to lock the gaps protect from rain

LeaperKim needs to design a $0.001 spring to help return the button to its neutral position. The rubber button is getting stuck within the edge crease of the material and the toggle-button on the display board wasn't designed to have sufficient spring force to return the rubber into position. Temporary fix: use hot glue to stick a nub-handle (like a chess-pawn piece) to the outside of the rubber and slightly pull after pushing to power on. {Second, seal the top cover edge with GE-type2 Silicone caulk, every time you open the control board cover.}

ewheels gave me a new top panel that fixes the button! It works well now! If you look at the end of the video the button is fixed!

Another thing people need to do is use loctite on the battery fuse bolts.

Hope they sove this in next batch. Sad to see so many problems. The wheel has potential. Paton and ss dont have these issues? Must be a bad year for production... Its nice ewheels is on it. Spending this doe on it and no support would be worse. Its good ewheels does the effort.

Just raise the toe pads to a higher setting if you don't like being locked in so much. Getting your feet stuck isn't much of a design issue since that can happen with any pad setup with a very tight toe area.

Mine has the same problem. It started after about two weeks of ownership but the button never gets stuck it's just a little crunchy. So it has never given me a problem. I've applied some silicone lubricant to the button and it appears to be getting better. And yes, when I purchased mine from E wheels they provided me power pads and a seat with my purchase. And the seat is really high-quality, it's very nice.

Every wheel has had issues, and china is gonna china. As an s22 owner, I'm jealous as hell haha. This is pretty fixable without replacement, and the company isn't even fighting customers on replacement.

Some Dremel work and button will work fine I think . This screen of death happen me few times in Sherman OG . Nothing done yet . Nothing important .

The light button doesnt work sometimes also. Ewheels overnighted me a new top panel. They are the best.

How do you know if you have the first batch....? I want to purchase the veteran lynx 62 lbs suspension but don't want the 1st batches...... Looking at buying one in the next couple weeks.

Ironically it seems like batch 2 is facing more issues than batch 1 and now they’re skipping directly to batch 3 in March

There are no known or unknown issues with the Lynx. It is very well known that Leaperkim is superior and they only produce perfect wheels.
