Well both the king and the red haired girl have vanity cases, but they can't be given away due to being cash shop items (csi). Which are in-game purchases at the cash shop. Csi's can't be traded or given away. Which still applies in the game turned reality. And the cash shop is inaccessible.

The light novel made it clear that it was no accident at all. That guy looked at his own charakter for a while and decided that he allready created his ideal charakter. But the he realized, he created his ideal MALE charakter and started making a female one. Confirming the change though was indeed an accident. Btw the King instantly guessed that that girl Was his friend because she fit basically every single one of his kinks and stuff

An anime about being in a game world, but not trapped there. This is the third example I have heard of that I can think of. The other two involves one where a girl player new to a game puts all her stats into defense and proceeds to unintentionally keep breaking the game world. The second being one where the main character having an older brother that is a veteran player, martial arts champion, and wears a bear outfit at all times.

the first one Maple is an ordinary middle school girl that trouble seems to find her ( i don't want to get hurt so i will max out my defense) and i have heard S2 is coming this fall. The 3rd one is una in -kuma ,kuma ,kuma bear and at first she was transpirted to a new world by a goddess. but if you watch the i believe the 2nd episode she mentions that she is going back into the world where she lives now as she puts her VR gear headset back on

If you are interested just read the light novel or manga, the anime skipped quite a lot of actually pretty important lore. Like the fact that the game time is the same as IRL time, so 30 actual years have passed. Or that the game was turned reality and everyone that was playing it when that happened became a part of it.

Least its an anime with some realism, but a appearance changing item in a game wouldn't be rare. Expensive yes cause that's how developers make money, but certainly not rare and would be more common to find. Still, least it makes for an interesting story

In the mmo in the anime, its a cash shop item. There is no rarity, but the cash shop isn't available to the players that are now trapped in the game. So the main character is stuck in that form until they can access the cash shop again and get another vanity box, or find one in the game world, which as far as they know doesn't exist as an item in the world.

They actually neglected to mention a MAJOR plot point right at the beginning. When Dunbalf defeats the army and then finds himself as 'Mira' He, now she, actually woke up as Mira. Everyone who was logged in at that exact moment were teleported into the game world, it's no longer a game. That's the "Reality update" that the "Game got." That is, it's similar to Log Horizon, but the 'players' wake up slowly, and not all at once. Which means that Dunbalf's friend has spent thirty years ruling over AN ACTUAL KINGDOM and not inside a game, by the time Mira/Dunbalf wakes up in the field.

@@Rathause Exactly. Well.... kind of? It's a bit difficult to explain, but put simply, again like Log Horizon, they aren't "In the game" any more, but a world that seems similar to the game. It's why I mentioned "Log Horizon" and not "SAO." We know, as far as I am aware, nothing about the "real World." So, as far as 'Mira' is aware, no time at all has passed could have passed, and 'Mira' 's player is doing just dandy. Or, 30 years have passed in the real world as well, and everyone sent to the 'game world' died.

It would be cool if an actual mmorpg could be even half as cool as some of these isekai ones, even assuming its a normal computer screen format game, I mean mechanically. I know it might be a balance mess, but creative devs can make that work. The real issue is the gaming industry isn't about making the coolest, best product possible, and obtaining long term profits from loyal happy customers. it's become about squeezing the most money from a rotating door of players in as short a time as possible, while developing the bare minimum of content in quality and quantity. It's dishonest and depressing and has led to a real lack of options for cool games like that.
