I've heard the veteran mechanic story before. I don't know how old this story is, but paying $10 per hour is already criminal. Cutting that in half is just asking for prosecution.

The first story, When we go to purchase any furniture/appliance, we measure the doorways and where the item is going to be, just to make sure it all fits. That's not difficult so why don't people do that?

I bought a nice leather sofa & loveseat a few years, those delivery guys tried getting the furniture through three doors didn't work. The sales guy didn't ask about door size, back it went. It was the last delivery of the day, tipped both guys $20 and gave them a six pack. 😅😊 That's hard work.

story 3. It does sound like the man suffered from dementia. And if he's been like this for years, it's quite possible he suffered from Early Onset Dementia. That can affect people as young as 30. So, he might suffer from dementia and just never been diagnosed.
