I just bought the Envista and Love It! If anyone is concerned about the 1.2 engine, it has good speed, is very quiet, and runs nicely. I know someone who owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage with a 1.2 CVT engine with 158,000 miles, with the same original engine, and the car still runs great. Envistas are new people! There are people on other posts who made negative comments regarding the engine. Too soon to misjudge the Envista. I love my Envista. Just thought i'd post this, as there are other vehicles out there with small engines. Guess there's a wait-and-see just how long it will last. Way to go Buick!

Just a heads up, I just bought a Preferred Envista. You can get get 3 packages that include the power liftgate, power seats, heated steering wheel, rain sensing windshied. blindspot, adaptive cruise control, phone charger and couple other things. So basically an Avenir without the roof and leather and rims (of course some other small things). MSRP was $26,495. I wanted the safety and the heat being in the midwest. My friend worked at the dealership and I wanted to test drive it. I traded in a 2020 Rav4 XLE. I was shocked how it drove. My first non Toyota in 20 years. I hope I dont regret it, but honestly dealing with a Toyota dealership is a nightmare right now. Plus to get a similar equipped Corolla Cross was about 8 grand more with mark ups. So all you "trade in people" can pound salt. I am up 8k already! lol

OMG I would be so curious to hear your opinion in the future! Cause I test drove both: Envista and Corolla Hatchback. I was afraid to get the Envista just because it’s a newer car, so it doesn’t have the crash test score yet (what is the most important thing for me) and Corolla hatchback is considered one of the safest hatchback and car overall. Plus it has the lane center assist (the Envista just lane keep assist, but it doesn’t keep you in the center of the lane, it just avoid you to cross the lane). I went to the Buick dealer and I felt like trash, they treat me so bad. At Toyota the car has everything I want it but the better ground clearance and power liftgate. They have the reliability, plus 2 years of maintenance free (Buick doesn’t have that for the Envista, only for the other cars). I’m very very happy with the Corolla (it was exactly the same price as the envista I want it). But I confess that I loved the Envista as well. It’s such a hard decision, I really don’t regret but of course it’s cool to hear other peoples opinion and what made them to get one thing instead to another. I hope both of us made the right thing 🤣🤣🤣
@robertk2530 Жыл бұрын
Use the lane keep assist for awhile and turn it off and drive on the highway without it. You will never turn it on again (opinion). I had it on my Rav4 and it on for years, but i was driving last winter in cold rain and wondering why my arms were getting tired. It was adjusting back and forth from the lane keep assist. Once I turned it off driving my Rav4 was much better. Absolutely love my Envista, fits my needs perfectly, quieter and more responsive than my Rav4. If the reliability is there on the Buick after 3 years I will stay with Buick, if not back to Toyota. @@danieltani2474

Nice review. Spot on. I live in SW Florida and bought my ST a little over 2 weeks ago. This car wasn't even on my radar 3 weeks ago. Saw it by chance while looking at other car reviews on KZbin. Spent a solid week reading up on and watching every review I could find on it; went to the local dealer on a Saturday morning, test drove it and took it home that afternoon. So far, I am extremely pleased with it. I was looking at a completely different color option (black), which the dealer had on hand, but then I saw a White Frost Tricoat with the 18 inch black wheels sitting in the showroom. So glad I made that choice. It is simply a drop dead gorgeous car. I am a pretty no-nonsense kind of guy. The ST I bought did not come equipped with all the options; and I'm ok with this. No sunroof? OK with me, never really cared for them much anyway. No power seats? Mine are standard 6-way manual, I'm the only driver, and I managed to find a real sweet spot without the electronic controls. Didn't have the remote start or powered lift-gate? I don't care. Had these features on other cars I've owned and barely used them. Heated seats and steering wheel??? I live in Florida: 'nuff said. Not saying these wouldn't be nice features to have for others, just that they didn't interest me. The standard features are more than enough to make me happy, especially my bottom line/out-the-door price of $27,400 and that included the $1095 extra that the factory charges for that paint option. Could have walked out with any other of the other similarly equipped Envistas (and they ALL look beautiful) in a standard color option for $26,000. The car is extremely quiet going down the road. And the 3 cylinder engine is surprisingly quick and smooth. If you have a heavy foot and impatient driving habits, this might not be for you. I'm all about comfort, not speed. This is a nice compromise. Goes down the highway at 80 smooth as silk and no indication of an engine straining to go through its paces when needed. Like you VoV, I hope my feelings will still be the same after 6 months to a year, but I really have a good feeling about this car. So far so good. Hope your luck continues as well.

I think it's a stunning looking hatchback, reminds me of my Toyota Celica hatchback I had soo many years ago. Especially considering the price on these. If you need a bigger cargo area to haul this and that, this car probably won't do. But for just getting to work and running around town, it's a great different look.

I'm in Cape Coral and trying to decide between the Buick and Trax
@stevenlake62933 ай бұрын
@@ericdolby1622 Hi…just saw your posting. I think either one would be a good choice. The main differences between the two, from what little I’ve heard, is that Trax has a little more aggressive body design, more in line with the Chevy Blazer. I’ve also heard that the ride is stiffer than the Envista. There’s supposedly more cab insulation inside the Envista than the Trax which some have said considerably lessens road noise. Not having driven a Trax, I can’t verify that. I do know that my Envista is one of the most quiet and smooth driving cars I’ve ever owned. Next month I will have owned it for a year. I have 5500 miles on it. So far I am very pleased with the purchase. I still am constantly having people stop me and ask what kind of car it is. Sharp, sweet, beautiful, gorgeous are the usual comments I hear. A few weeks ago, I guy at the gas station said when he first saw it, he thought it was a Lamborghini Urus. I had never heard of it, so I looked it up. I can see the resemblance. Not equating the Envista to a Lambo, but the body designs are similar. Both are great looking cars. If you are interested in the Buick, I can highly recommend Dixie on 41 in South Fort Myers. I have NEVER had a better experience buying a new car than what I got at the Dixie dealership. I’ve bought a number of new cars over the years and this buying experience was far and away the best that ever had. Good luck in your search. 👍🏻✌🏻

@richarda3659 Жыл бұрын
I have no factual basis for the statement I am about to make, but based on the past performance of similar vehicles, the engine in this Envista is going to be fine, but not extraordinary. That means it probably won't hold up like a Toyota or Honda engine, but it shouldn't be any worse than a typical small Ford or GM engine. And at the price you pay, you'll get your money's worth. Plus, for anyone purchasing one now, it will be new with a full GM warranty.

I don't have a heavy foot and drive quite conservatively but merging and changing lanes at highway speeds sometimes you just need to be able to move. It's a great looking car and even if it was comfortable I can't help thinking I would need more. A hybrid option with battery assistance could fix that concern but if this "1.2L liter turbo 3 cyl is all they're going to offer I'll probably keep looking.

I've purchased 3 cars from this dealership since 98. I told him I'll find one somewhere and if I purchased one, I'll bring it buy so he could see one in person. These car dealerships act like we are still in covid times when they mark them up and people are standing in line to buy. Oh, BTW, I told him I was a repeat customer, and he looked at me and smirked. Back in October this year,, I tested an Envista with the sport touring trim. I enjoyed it for the most part - it handled well, was very quiet/comfortable, and had exterior style to spare. It ran smoother and peppier than the cramped and jittery Mazda CX-30 that I had test driven the day before. That said, to make the Envista even better, Buick/GM need to add AWD, the 1.3 liter 155 HP engine from the Encore GX Sport Touring and Avenir trim lines, and - as noted in the video - a rear window washer and wiper. I live in central Massachusetts, where winter road salt obstructs visibility out of nearly every car window. Not including a washer/wiper combo on the Envista is a big cause for hesitation in my actually buying one. Offering a hybrid model would be welcome, too. (And I want one in deeper Blue Glow Metallic as on the new Trax - not the watery bland Ocean Blue currently featured. I'm particular that way.) Thanks for the real life review; the Envista is still in the running to succeed my beloved 15 & 1/2 year old Kia Optima EX V6.

Um, adding AWD and the bigger engine to the Envista would defeat its own purpose, which is to be a premium, affordable vehicle. They ship them from the factory with extra air in the tires. I heard it had something to do with flat spots or something to do with the shipping process. Your dealer is supposed to make sure the proper air pressures in the tires before you take delivery of the car. General motors have replace tires on these because of the overinflation, tires coming apart. I have a black activ, my dealer didn't do my tires, I noticed when I was checking all the gauges after I got it home. Overall I love my new trax activ!

I sold Buicks, GMCs and Cadillacs. Buicks are very nice cars and much quieter than Cadillacs. That said, they can't shed their "stodgy" image despite having contemporary tech. Our Buick sales were always low relative to Cadillac and GMC despite some very good financing options and strong discounts. People make a mistake by not considering Buicks when cross shopping.

Sorry, but lack of AWD is a deal breaker for me. I dont go off road, but live in MN, where (most years) roads are snow covered and slippery 4-5 months of the year. The Envista is a very nice hatchback, and would probably be a great value in a warm weather climate. Only other caveat, is that I am somewhat suspicious of the reliability and longevity of those tiny turbocharged 3 bangers.

The South Koreans have pretty much caught up with the Japanese brands in quality and are ahead of them in value for your money. And I think these Buicks aren’t even coming from the major Korean brand Hyundai/Kia that has more resources, but are made by the smaller company Dae Woo. Korea has become a major player in the market with a serious share of the market here in California that used to be owned by Japan. Some GM cars are now also coming from the Chinese company SAIC. I expect we’ll be seeing some improvements in quality from them as well. Meanwhile here in the US, GM has moved 80% of their research center jobs to China, and the UAW is striking for a 40% increase in wages.

I test drove one recently, and it would've been perfect if not for one major issue - it's the first car I've ever sat in that I felt too fat for the seats. I'm 6'0" and 285 lbs, and the seat belt socket was jabbing into my right thigh the entire test drive, and the seat as a whole just felt too narrow for me. I currently drive a Ford Focus, so I never expected something so much larger to fit me so poorly. It's a bummer because I was considering leasing one.

Some of the Toyotas, that shipped with the six speed Aisin transmission, have driven past 400k on their original transmission. So, the transmission on your new Envista should last at as long as your engine.

I believe you mean *brake light. When we bought ours, our budget was around $40k. We got every option on an Avenir and out the door it was $30,700. If you price a 2025 Avenir today the most you can option it is $31,200. If you get a Fully optioned ST you are looking @ 27k(ish). If a dealer is charging close to $40k it's time to find a new dealer. (it's not uncommon to find one under MSRP). After a year of ownership & 16k miles it's been awesome.
