Huge thanks for these videos! They were of so much help for me! I just replaced the intake manifold gaskets on my 1988 Trans AM GTA. Car had a slight coolant leak, and coolant were pooling on the passenger side of the intake. Propably came up through the bolts.

I absolutely would vacuum any intake before you pull it off the Block so you don't introduce dirt

David, good point and I wholeheartedly agree. Since I"m tearing this engine down to the shortblock for a deep cleaning after the previous owner filled it full of liquid head gasket sealer, I didn't bother to vacuum first.

Hi i have a question for you i just bought a 90 Irocz with a 5.7 tpi does this block come with a rollor cam block and can i eliminate the egr valve.

It is a roller cam block with the one-piece rear main seal. You can delete the EGR valve. However, you will probably experience some driveability issues such as running rich and the ECM throwing codes since it's an integral part of the early computer systems on these cars.
