Great video, thanks! The knob in the back is to adjust and align the slicing plate top-to-bottom so your slices don't come out uneven. You almost need a vernier caliper to set it, but I just eyeball it. Whenever you change the thickness you have to take this adjustment knob into account and either loosen or tighten it.

Many thanks for this KZbin video. The manual is totally useless, so thanks for explaining the sharpening process. Cheers Ted from the UK

Awesome review. That adjuster knob with the nut is there to prevent uneven slices when you are slicing anything paper thin.

The bolt you used to steady the blade to remove also keeps the top of the guide plate from flexing! If you do not steady the guide plate the plate will flex and you would get an uneven slice.

I recently bought one of these, now I know how to clean/sharpen it. You're right, the manual could be better.

Man getting a slicer, dehydrator, and a Costco business membership will save you more money on food then just about anything

This passed Christmas I got the 12" meat slicer. Looking forward to using it. As for savings how much lunch meat I use, It will pay for itself in 6 months.

I want to buy a meat slicer soon mostly to cut my own bacon, how wide a piece will the 10” slicer cut?

Thank you for this review Jack. Getting a slicer has been on my mind since your podcast pointing out the cost of buying fresh deli sliced meats. I was looking at an LEM two weeks ago. Time to do some serious comparison shopping. I really like the safety and sharpening features on this one. 👍🏻

Yeah, that handle grip for the blade is truly a great innovation. I just don't know if the blade is of the same excellent quality as the Italian-made, chromium-plated carbon steel stuff the likes of Beswood. Edit: Interesting, my Beswood 250-RX has similar 6.6mm (a bit larger than 1/4") threaded holes in the blade, but none of the screws in the unit are sized correctly to thread through them. It's like they wanted to copy Vevor, but didn't fully think it through. I wonder if some replacement screws from Vevor would work?

Is Vevor good? I was thinking to buy the same one. How long do you have it?
@martindesrosiers38809 ай бұрын
Is the blade stainless steel or #45 carbon steel or Chrome?
@EricHicke-ow4ll11 ай бұрын
I bought the same exact model about 6 months ago, works great, but sadly my blade does not have the threaded holes.

Then you did not buy the "same exact model"
@EricHicke-ow4ll11 ай бұрын
@@survivalpodcasting Yes, the exact same one. I clicked on your link. Last purchased Aug 3, 2023 Size: 10IN-240W Maybe it was an added feature right after I purchased mine? Its either that or another QC issue? Btw, my blade was razor sharp out of the box, just for the record.

You should inform your viewers that VEVOR ( Chinese company ) does not not support their product after warranty, if for any reason such as normal ware and tear or in need to change a blade or one of your sharpening stone or any thing else, you will not be able to purchase them, you will have to purchase a brand new slicer... Think about it prior to purchase...

Blades for these are industry standard and can be bought for about 70-80 bucks from sources like Websturant.
