Yeah, it’s not very expensive but it’s missing some features like you mentioned. It did seem to cut ok even though the blade is rotating in the wrong direction. Thanks for your honest review. Slainte, DC🍀

thanks for watching. yea it's rare I need to cut bit pieces of metal, but it's nice having something like this saw that can give me a clean cut, and doesn't shoot sparks all over like an angle grinder

Perhaps it is meant for use as a vertical bandsaw. I have got one and planning to build it into a vertical bandsaw with a stand. When it is vertical, the cable will be at the bottom and the blade cutting direction is correct.

it's not meant to be used as a vertical bandsaw if you need to modify it in order to do so

Yeah I totally agree 👍 with you that the blade is running in the wrong direction. Just watched another video where the person was using it without the base. I think if using it like this and the blade jams it will pull the saw away from the operator. (I think) But I totally agree with you that the blade should be going in the other direction 👍👍 NSW. AUSTRALIA

As for there being no chain to keep it closed when transporting it, I am wondering if one of the screws that secure the bandsaw compartment can be used for one part of the chain, then inserting a self tapping screw into the bandsaw stand to secure the other part of the chain.
