G'day Adrian, thanks for the demo of the Vevor band saw mate. It looks ideal for what you need in the shed to make the jobs easier, and having the right tool for each job is a safety plus too. Best regards to you and Wendy.

Thanks mate. Haven’t seen you at Jerry’s for a while. They open again on 29th Jan.

I’ve been fretting for Dalmore. I haven’t seen yours or Wendy’s new bikes yet either, I’ll explain later. 🇦🇺🏍☕️

Put a similar diameter piece in the other end of the vice. It will clamp tight then.

That was a useful video I have wondered about the Vevor bandsaws. Like you Im a backyard tinkerer. Thanks, I will look at the stand you made.

I have a little fixture plate I use in my electric hacksaw for clamping down small items that won't hold with the standard vice. The existing vice holds the fixture plate, and the small item is clamped to the fixture plate.

I have to admit I find myself pretty much in the same position you were in, having bought the handheld version of the saw last year, I am finding it to be a fantastic tool - wish I had bought this version of it right off the bat. But my old electric hacksaw is still working well, and I have a few blades for it sitting in the cupboard, I'll wear them out first before getting one of these, (nearly 40 bucks each for those suckers!) But one of these is definitely on my gunna list!

can you share which band blade you were using?
@ShedBuiltStuff7 ай бұрын
It comes with two blades which are just as good as the Milwaukie blades I have also used.

Would be good if the base was diecast aluminium like many of the cheap Chinese pillar drills on the market rather than plastic. It looks to be a good quality, handy tool for the home enthusiast.
@ShedBuiltStuff Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. The base is “alloy steel” not plastic.

Good to know as it sounded quite "plasticy" when you tapped it. Have fun with your new toy! @@ShedBuiltStuff

I bought a similar model last year. For the few times I need it, it gives me a much better cut than using handheld tools.

Price? It depends where you live. Just do a google search.

Aluminium is the main reason I want one of these saws, but you have cut bugger all Aluminium. I cut a lot of solid round bar Aluminium from 20mm to 60mm and I cannot find one of these reviews that shows much Aluminium cutting pity.

The standard blade teeth size is too small for Ali. It will cut it but the teeth clog. If you can find a courser blade, the saw will cut Ali fine as it can be set to run fast enough for Ali. I use a cheap Ryobi wood cutting bandsaw (with wood cutting blade) for cutting aluminium. This does an excellent job.
