So I don't know the stats of this item other than the wattage. Based on wattage consumption this would cost 90 cents a day at 8 hr of use $6.30 a week $27.40 a month 328.73 a year. Plus the initial cost of $60 ish. A grand total of 380 give or take a little based on the rate your power company charges also. I think you'd be better off buying distilled water at the store. Also a lot of products like this just don't last so you'll probably be buying a new one every couple years.

@@Donalbane thank you for the insight. I wasn't quite sure how to figure out how much electricity it would use. If you're not using distilled water, I could see buying it being the better option. But there are weeks I'm spending $20 a week on distilled water, so this machine will pay for itself in a fairly reasonable amount of time

@Cigarprop you may want to see if you can buy distilled water in larger quantities to get a better price. I was just doing the power consumption based on the wattage, but you could get more accurate info with some tester in real time. Some of these appliances are wildly inefficient.

@@Donalbane after testing the machine, and finding out how long it actually takes to make a gallon, I'm definitely going to maybe hit up my local Club store and see if they offer a multiple case discount. It's not like it'll go bad
