This review is part of The 12 Games Challenge, where Skapokon will make reviews of a series of games that were recommended by the community. At the end of the year there will also be a ranking that will indicate which game is the best.
As February's game, Skapokon will take a look at one of the platformers with the most troublesome development history. This is the adventure of Vexx, a kid with magic claws and a thrist for revenge... will he be able to reach his goal with a decent game?

"Nada da mas lastima que el potencial desperdiciado" - Un reseñador cualquiera en la internet, probablemente. Referencias aparte, esta fue una reseña muy interesante. La historia detras de Iguana Entertainment/Acclaim Austin es una bien curiosa, en su mayoria con titulos de deportes, el ultimo siendo de Showdown: Legends of Wrestling antes de su quiebra que ya mencionaste. Este juego pinta para ser un tremendo "What if" pues parece tener muchisimo lore pero el presupuesto y los problemas de desarrollo le jugaron en contra. Una lastima, pues si las cosas se hubiesen dado de otra manera, probablemente alguno de sus aspectos pudo haberse pulido mejor desde el segundo cero, o quiza para la secuela que jamas llegó. Quien sabe que tono hubiera tenido o si el resto del lore se hubiese animado tambien, beneficiando a la vez al juego. Bueno, siempre está la posibilidad de que Lady Hell si aparezca de veras en la futura secuela de Pipe and Drum. Voy a utilizar una armadura anti-brujas para proteger mi corazón por si las dudas.

As someone who became git gud at this game (but still didn't beat the final boss because damn you Yabu) I think this was an excellent, fair review of the game I feel gets bad rep. I agree with the segmented area criticism, and I think the devs took inspiration from Spyro 3 where it was also a problem. That being said, out of all the climbing platforming challenges the Musical Instrument one was the best one. But screw that sand castle mission with a rusty nail with a wraith heart on it. I did not even realize the signs were there honestly, I guess I didn't pay attention to them and last time I played this game I just used a walkthrough to help me find the wraith hearts. I guess next time I play this I will give them points for that. I do consider this game a hidden gem. I do admit it breaks my heart (haha) that the game never got to see it's true potential through because if it had more development time it could've become one of the best games for the system, but maybe the best we can get is a fan mod that restores some of the cut content but I am not holding my breath for that.

Antes de este vídeo pensaba que Vexx era una gótica con pelo tipo Lady Hell y que por eso estaba doblada por Alaska. Se me ha hecho cortísima esta reseña pero no siento que falte nada. El principio muy apresurado por la falta de contexto del personaje o la historia del juego, pero como se explica más adelante termina aportando temáticamente a que sea un juego obviamente inacabado. A ver si gracias a este tipo de vídeos se vuelve un juego de culto y le hacen remake metiendo todo lo que querían y triplicando a los startalents por los loles.

Si la historia hubiera tenido más papel en el juego hubiera hablado de ella desde el principio, pero es que literalmente se esfuma tan pronto como empieza y es muy raro viendo como el juego parece tener un montón de lore interno que seguramente no tuvieron tiempo de añadir
