Absolutely incredible first JoJo moveset for Lawl! I think the way he was represented was perfect, with him feeling meek before bringing in the grand strategy of Echoes keeping his master safe. The way Echoes abilities and ACT progression were utilized were also fantastic, giving way for grand strategy and the craftiness JoJo fights are known for. Speaking of, all the little references peppered throughout were fantastic as well I also adored the interactions in the Intro and outro a bunch, the concept of Mike being a menace in Morioh is really funny to me. Overall a FANTASTIC start of year moveset! Also glad DIO got his shit kicked in too lol

Glad you liked the set! And specially that you enjoyed the cameo :3 I chose Mike as the menace during the intro and outro because, let's be honest, his design just screams "bully who annoys a stand user and suffers the consequences for it". At least he didn't insult Josuke's hair...

Really liked the cinematic with Irene at the beginning 👍(though with the Cybot effect she could've just grabbed that thing and ruin Koichi's cool entrance xD)

Even if she had access to the Cybot effect with its boosters on the back, Mike still has Za Warudo- I mean, the pause button on his controller

Ever since DIO was an assist trophy way back in Volume 1, there's been a major kick for JoJo representation in Lawl. And lo and behold, we finally got our first rep, and its someone who played a side role in the series. Even as someone who's more of a casual fan of JoJo, this was still a solid moveset. I like how his main strategy is having his Stand (can't make a JoJo moveset without those), mark his foes, allowing him to deal extra damage to make up for his meek nature. Even the one move that didn't rely on this gimmick (Up B) is a great pushback tool. I don't know what I was expecting for a Final Smash, but holy crap, that was hilarious. Imagining getting beaten up by a Stand, only to then be crushed by an ambulance. While everything else was great too, the lore sequences were probably my favorite. Nova has only a few intro and outros where the cast interact, so this was a real treat. I love how Mike acts a typical bully who gets his butt kicked, foolishly tries to settle the score, and wounds up running away from the literal Bigfoot, where we also get a neat callback to his moveset. And of course, I'm looking forward to seeing Hilda next, and after her, the two remaining revealed characters.

HOOOOOOOOLY FRICK, ok this is my new all time favorite Lawl Nova moveset, I really liked the fact the marks are placed on the opponents face from the Neutral B, the side B having different effects, the Up B giving Koichi a small burst of speed, and I can even see the Down B being a great combo starter, and OH MY GOD THAT IS AN AMAZING FINAL SMASH, seriously though, you did an amazing job on this moveset, and I am HYPED for Hilda, good job, Skapokon.

Congrats to having the first JoJo rep in Lawl to get their full moveset! I really like the role that Koichi's stand Echoes plays in the moveset, with each of its different forms shaking up the gameplay in some way, with the ability to leave marks on opponents which can cause various effects on them depending on which affected opponents and/or marks are closest to Koichi. Also the FS was a funny choice with using the ambulance scene from part 4, which has the power to KO on the spot. I liked seeing Bart and Sakurai's regulars shown off at the KO sounds segment and Koichi's taunts and victories (plus I like how the third victory had some extra animation on zooming out to the full results screen). Of course, the animation keeps getting better, and it's interesting seeing Mike Vincent's role in the lore being expanded on, especially with confrontations with not just Koichi but also Hilda and SA Bigfoot. It's always great seeing videos from Lawl Nova, and this one was a great one to watch, I look forward to seeing more from Lawl Nova in the future as well!

As someone who's far behind in JoJo's, i didn't expect to like this specific character. At first, all i knew about Koichi was the funny pose that was circulating the internet for a bit. Now after watching this moveset, it's true that he might not be the most impressive looking, but it's the unorthodox close-quarter strategy that comes from Echoes' assistance that makes him someone you shouldn NOT sleep on. If anything, now i'm intrigued about DiU when i get to it.

All these Jojo characters I'm seeing in lawl, and this is the first one to actually get a moveset. Honestly, I really enjoyed it. Koichi is someone I'd play as for hours. Giving on how much work you put into his set. The way the marks are involved a lot was a interesting mechanic. Nice to see Nova stepping it up more every video you make. Good luck on Hilda!

Real story, but I was literally watching a Nova moveset, and then I started going crazy with hype when I saw this notification right under the video 😅 Anyways, as someone who hasn’t really watched JoJo, but is fascinated by its concepts and characters, I was excited to see how Koichi would be executed in this Lawl, and this did not disappoint! All these different functions and abilities present in the moveset that all correlate with one another and have a lot of versatility on their own or when combined made this moveset incredibly entertaining to watch. I’m a big fan of how the stand punch is not only a good option for KOs, but additionally correlated with the other specials, like the stunning Side B that becomes even more effective of a combo starter when enemies are marked, Up B, despite being the only move not important to the mark gimmick, is still really good in its only right, and the Down B tying everything together with many of the marks playing out with various intriguing results. And the Final Smash topped things off very nicely with its simple but effective nature. The Ko’s, Taunts and victories all are a great watch, and the playstyle origin and the combos present definitely made this moveset one of your best. Great work Skap, and I’m hyped to see what you have planned for Hilda. Best of luck to you! 👍🏿

Okay so it took a while, but someone finally decided to make a moveset for a JOJO Character in Smash (not counting Rivals Workshop). And this is one hell of a set! Making Koichi focused heavily around Creative Zoning and Traps is such a perfect way to encapsulate the general Fighting Style of the Series known as JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Set a Trap with Echoes then make that sound Ring later on. This type of Synergy is perfect and feels like the type of thing that would fit JOJO perfectly! Not to mention using a Wind Sound for Up Special is so creative. It’s a little made up but I like that because it fits better than whatever I could theoretically think of. Not to mention how it too can play into the Playstyle. As a bonus the Final Smash was hilarious, as I wasn’t expecting the Ambulance to show up. Overall I love this set and it fits Koichi and JOJO very well. I was smiling all through this and this is a fantastic set! Easily one of the best Movesets in Lawl Nova. 10/10!

Not only was this the first Jojo moveset in Lawl, but it's also the first high effort set of the year! While on surface, the set doesn't look like much, not unlike a Stand's abilities at first; there's a lot more complexity and strategy as you look more into the unconventional applications of each move as they tie into each other, encouraging quick thinking and for you to make up plans on the fly, even with the onomatopeia's trap being randomized. It's especially satisfying when seeing the markings coming together, making use of the other moves but also providing different options and opening that could easily dominate the opponents if Koichi can put them to good use, which ultimately culminates into one big Keep-Away playstyle that not only fits Koichi's character but also his fighting style in the anime. Not only that, but you also put in all these little references to Part 4 itself (i.e. Down B's radius reference Echoes' own range of 5 meters, and John on the Spanky's like Antonino), to other parts (like Dio getting *burned* on the Castlevania stage, and DK on the ship references... ugh) There's probably more that I missed, but I'll be damned if this wasn't made with a lot of thoughts and love to the series in mind; and I'm sure the later movesets, whether it's from you or other, can only get better from here. As for Koichi's set, you're getting a big thumbs up from this Jojo fan! Good luck on the next one!

It's weird to think that this is the first JoJo moveset in Lawl considering the amount of JoJo characters that were revealed, considered and scrapped already. Koichi was the one that I was the most curious about, being a side character instead of a protagonist/main villain and having such a versatile Stand. And I must say, that same versability is shown perfectly in this moveset without making it needlessly complicated. I like how the playstyle also revolves around the way JoJo fights usually play out, having some elements that require experimentation and planning done during the heat of battle. The Classic mode ending with all the references to scenes in the anime is the cherry on top

I’m sorry I didn’t comment on this moveset sooner dear. At the time I didn’t really have much fresh to say on it cause I knew what the journey was like for you when making this. But I still really want to support you and your efforts so, here we go. Right off the bat, this is very likely going to be one of my favorite movesets of the year. We’re still fairly early into this year, but as someone who really enjoyed JoJo, part 4 especially, this means a lot. I love how much of a tactful character Koichi is, both in how he plays and how you could play him. Yet there’s still room for him to grow as a fighter, much like how he has different possibilities to try out. It was incredibly clever to make each phase of his Stand part of a charge he has to carefully select. Plus the idea of a sound based attack is so creative, I could see it or something like it in the old JoJo fighting game Capcom made. Same with Whoosh, which I imagine could help push foes into a marked trap. Speaking of the marks, that's easily Koichi’s best move in his kit. Act 1 could be a great tool to annoy and distract your opponents with the constant damage. Act 2 forces the opponent to stay on guard since they don’t know what effect can happen. And Act 3 is just, amazingly good. Then there’s the Final Smash which is, gosh possibly one of the most brutal in Lawl, at least in its original context. Great stuff dear heh. Koichi might seem like a random choice for a JoJo moveset, but he fits so perfectly in Nova. He captures its fun, experimental side really well with all the different versions of his Stand. He’s a bright underdog who as he grows gets better at showcasing his brilliance and thoughtfulness (like a certain someone). Plus he’s in a Lawl with Joel, a plant, and other characters he can relate with. Which is what makes both the intro and outro segments so much fun. Seeing Koichi hang with others who, like him, have already been through a lot in their lives is great. Well that and Mike Vincent who’s just, a fun goofball of a villain. I’m very much excited for Hilda and the next steps Nova takes, no matter how bizarre things get. Also San Andreas Bigfoot and Hilda are buddies. This is canon and I’m immensely happy it is.

As someone who dind't really get into the jojos, I was very surprised about this character being picked for your roster instead of one of the memetic ones. So I was very curious about what could be so lawl-worthy about Koichi. Onomatopeias and sound as attacks feel like the perfect playground for Lawl Nova to make a moveset about. This makes me want to see some Ibáñez or Astérix in the roster just to see how would you approach them.
@skapokonroll9 ай бұрын
Well Koichi is pretty memetic in the fandom, whether it is the silly pose he does in the first intro of his part, some of Duwang's most iconic lines belonging to him and also the fact that he's so short lol

Definently the moveset out of the bunch of newcommers i was anticipating the most besdies Hilda and well..ths definently didn't dissapoint 0U0!! Really, any JoJo representation I'm all for as it's my favorite Anime, But Koichi is one where i'm like "okay, i can see this both working, and not working"..and HHHHHHOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLY you made him work perfectly!!..for once, i might actually be out of words completely for one of your movesets :o I will say this though, the final smash actually caught me off gaurd havily before laughin from how hilarious it was! in a great way though, and having Yukako's house as his homstage is interesting, but also perfect (and the compretive form with the floating tables is a nice touch!). The little lore segments were cute and fun as well! 10/10, best of luck on Hilda (btw, OMG the woodman helping her flaot/swim is such an amazing touch >u

That being said, the moveset was still fun. I liked how the Neutral B and Down B were connected to each other. Also the Final Smash was hilarious too. But did his Stand say what I think he said!? 😐 Haven't watched Hilda yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing her in action.
