I installed real fal furniture on my VFC. I used a surplus stock and grip. The nbc handguard is aftermarket by Penguin.
Several reviews complained about the VFC furniture. When I compared them to surplus parts, they were almost identical. Though the finish was a little rougher. With a little sanding and polishing they can look factory original.
The VFC grip is actually a later style grip. When the take down lever was changed from a vertical to a horizontal position the grip was raised to prevent bumping it. The VFC grip can be sanded down to remove that raised section. Otherwise, it's identical to a real early pattern grip.
The only major difference with the VFC stock is that it's about 1/4" longer. The front and back are shaped exactly the same. No other aftermarket stock is shaped the same. The crimping of the sling swivel is a little different, but really not worth swapping out. The plastic butt pad should be swapped out for a rubber one. The Penguin one does fit, but not the greatest. Maybe the DSA one will fit better.
The nbc Penguin handguard took quite a bit of work to look as good as it does. The screw and nut were both non captive. I made a new correctly shaped nut and epoxied it on. I also made a new correctly shaped captive screw. There was a lot of sanding needed to smooth out the handguard. Pledge clear floor polish was used to fill in the micro scratches and turn it completely black. The front was rounded over to match the radius of bent sheet metal. Then sprayed with Rustoleum 2089830 Auto Primer Flat Dark Grey to look like parkerizing. It was misted on to give a slightly rough texture.
To remove the stock a special tool is needed. They can be purchased, but I made my own. Here's a link to the one I made and another link for an alternative option.

Is installing real furniture worth it? In my opinion it's not. Surplus furniture isn't cheap. It will also be well used and can be rather rough. New aftermarket furniture also isn't shaped quite the same as real fal furniture. It also isn't as smooth. Just spend the time sanding and polishing the VFC furniture.
If your looking for a nbc handguard the Penguin is the only aftermarket option. Real ones are going for several hundred dollars. They are also in pretty rough condition.
Since I already installed the real grip and modified the stock, I'm going to keep them. Though knowing what I know now I would have just modified the VFC parts. While the modified Penguin handguards did turn out better than I was expecting, I'm still not completely happy with the non-steel front.
