And it so happens I had a little fun with a VFR400 also. Thanks for posting. There's so much I can learn from watching that.

Still have the VFR400 I hope? Wicked video and after watching this a few times over the years I just realized your bike had 69,000km + on it. Mine has the same mileage on it now and is running pretty damn well for a 32 year old bike. A true testament to the build quality of these little V4's.

That temperature gauge though! (Nice ride - love the VFR 400)

2.40 ninja nearly came a croppa on the corner lol. I've ridden a VFR400 and they're beautiful bikes when suspension set up nicely on the road, lovely long first gear, and so precise handling. Great bikes.

+urbanfireblade Haha, interesting you noticed that. It was the end of the day and I totally lost concentration. Kinda forgot to open the throttle.

How do I release the rpm limit? The current nc30 only goes up to 15000 rpm even if the sp unit is attached.

Nice sound, can totally hear the engine sing. Is the scraping sound in the corners the footpegs dragging?

those other bikes had nearly 40hp on you and you were right there. nicely done. we can all learn to ride better and nothing wrong w/ staying within our limits so no criticism of the other riders.

Nice. The vfr is going well. Have you got stock suspension on it?
@sil3ntwar9 жыл бұрын
eamon doyle Nope! I got Robert Taylor at KSS to upgrade the front end with stiffer springs and race tech emulators and also put on a Nitron 3 way shock. Not cheap but well worth it.

What tyres are you running? I can find much decent sports tyres for my vfr400
@jonathancoates22598 жыл бұрын
+joshfspnz Dunlop Alpha 13s. If you are in New Zealand they are the best tyres to run. Available in both 17" and 18" for the rear. You can also get the Bridgeston BT090 from bits4bikes. This is another good option for the 18" rear. Best to match with a Bridgestone 003 front or maybe even the Bridgestone S20 front.
@joshfspnz8 жыл бұрын
+Jonathan Coates Awesome cheers for that mate. Yeah I am in NZ :). I've got Bridgestone BT003's on my cbr250rr and I really like them. How do you find the BT090 or alpha 13 compare to a BT003 or a rosso 2? Those are the only tyres I've got experiance with...
@jonathancoates22598 жыл бұрын
+joshfspnz Honestly couldn't tell ya. Have only ridden on the Dunlops and cheap shinkos. Everyone in the UK uses BT090s on their NC30s as that is the only 18" sticky rubber. I would grab whatever is cheaper out of the Alpha 13s or BT003 Front and BT090 Rear combo. If you get a 17" rim for the rear you have a much larger tyre selection.

looks at that rev counter..still pulling at 14k..glad I,ve got a v4 Honda ..
beautiful bike..i didn't know that it can go to 200km/h..once i get into 180 i know the engine still habe more punch into it but i didn't dare in fear of ruining the speedometer..
@GK1976A2 жыл бұрын
Looks like he's hitting 220km on the main straight to me, which is nearly 137mph. Not bad for a little bike.
@MutieThePig9 жыл бұрын
Great footage. That 600 had some really weird lines though...
@GunganWorld8 жыл бұрын
+MutieThePig I think the CBR waited for him, like in traffic? Our VFR's were clearly faster in corners but on long straights we lost out to the bigger engines. TL;DR get a vfr400rr for in towns like London :)
@thestar1119 жыл бұрын
The engine is running very hot?? Should be 80-90c at those speeds. I also own a VFR400. I restored it a few years back and would never sell it.. Great bike :)
@jonathancoates22599 жыл бұрын
thestar111 Could do with a service. Coolant was boiling on return to pits. Fan doesn't turn on until it is very hot should probably put a switch in.
@twitchyvoncrum9 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Coates Exactly what I've done with mine, makes things much easier, being able to control the fan.
@GunganWorld8 жыл бұрын
+thestar111 I remember mine getting really hot when racing a suberu through Camden in London one night, as the last owner told me. The bike still won when bored of it, and no laws broken ofc. They chatted at each set of lights :)
@n2n8sda8 жыл бұрын
+Jonathan Coates no need for a switch if the cooling system / water pump are in good order.. they ran fine in Japan during 40c summers and rush hour traffic.. gauge reading is quite hot for the fan to come on but well within spec... adding a switch just mask symptoms.. most comon is sludge in engine / lower rad fins blocked up wtih road grime. also coem across nc30 with partially blocked rads (check for cold spots)
@simonrusk33383 жыл бұрын
Excellant video ☺️👍.. nice riding.. as a rule the faster you go.. the temperature should come down.. as more air circulated around the engine.. still check oil pressure maybe the coolant needs upgrading.. they do run hot

Do you know if the vfr 750 is big enough for me? Id really like to ride an old v4, but even the "big" 750 looks like it has a pretty low seat position.
