Great flight. Its interesting that a place that you know as Leeds East, I knew as home for 5 years when I was in the Air Force in the 80s. I often fly either Walney or Blackpool to CF on my sim.

Great video (nice to see the snow too) but the only thing I dislike more than the renaming of historic airfields to something dull (like "Leeds East"), is when runways get a load of cars storage-parked on them. Poor old Church Fenton. Having said that I'm glad it is still open and GA pilots get to land on an RAF width runway.

Thanks Ben. Another lovely flight. Just a question : is startup request not necessary in the UK for VFR? I noticed the last few flights you started up and then first contact with ATC was to request taxi? Is it airport dependent? Thanks.

Hi Ben. Just noticed the video is 5 years old. Lol. But would love to understand when to request startup. I fly on VATSIM in the UK and always request startup for a VFR departure and ATC don’t seem to mind.
