No way, you don't do that. You don't take this moment away from him. He doesn't need your sympathy, he is the embodiment of the ultimate warrior. He got here all by himself, so let him enjoy it. Those are not tears of sorrow but of overcoming.

@@Power50505 He was standing there in solidarity with a brother in arms. You try to be there for someone who you think needs it. And I'm pretty sure nobody thought that act took away from his moment.
@Power505053 жыл бұрын
@@theraskles4400 There is nothing wrong with standing in solidarity with a brother-in-arms. However, what does he need? What makes you think he needs that gesture? Normally people console other people to try to help them relieve the grief or pain they are suffering. If you were truly in tune with David Goggins and his speech you'd pickup on the fact that this moment is one of pure joy, and one of, if not, the greatest moment(s) of his life. Do not misinterpret those tears as grief but as a feeling of fulfillment after years of discipline to reach his highest potential. The correct show of support would have been to respect and congratulate his accomplishments. You don't go rubbing or patting his back as if you're trying to soothe his pain. The man is a warrior so show him the proper form of support.

Whose here while reading "Never Finished"? Its through watching this man, that I've really learnt the meaning of the word respect. Respect is when you see somebody do something and go "I couldn't do that" There's something that you really want, that you want just as much as anybody else could. And you see this one man working toward that with a passion, a drive, a dedication, that you can't even imagine to have. You say, "I want to succeed, I really do... but I couldn't do what you do." *I thank my mom up here who......* pause and tears *who never picked me up... who never picked me up when I fell* *She taught me how to get up when I was knocked down* I wonder how/why this tough-as-nail/woodpecker lip warrior shed tears. What went through the warrior's mind? He had mentioned his mom in various interviews and never seemed to be bothered with how things were. They just were. That's it. Roger that and drive on. After seeing literary every interview, and be inspired by this man since 2008, I can only guess. Perhaps David himself was caught in surprise. Could it be... as he thanked her, he saw glimpses in his mind: - When his mom mustered the courage to leave his abusive dad and took him with her - When his mom took multiple jobs to make ends meet.....leaving him in the process to fend himself against the bullies and the kkk - When his mom collected enough money to pay for a tutor so he could finally pass asvab after failing twice - When he went to her in tears after failing to gut out the first attempt to run to lose weight to meet requirement for SEAL training He saw that in her failing to protect and help him as most mothers would be expected to.... she allowed the weak, fearful, insecure david goggins to become THE David Goggins. To thank your mother not only for all she had done, but also for all she failed to do... *That.* *Takes.* *A.* *Big.* *HEART.* Not only man of grit and guts, but man of big heart. Our hearts broke when his ruff and gruff voice broke. The room got a bit dusty too All my discouragements seem nonsensical. I, who got 98 in asvab afqt, scored 69 in Navy OAR, among the highest at the recruiting station, yet do not have 1/8th of this man's heart and too often whine and complain like a little b****. Cleaned, swept, and mopped my apartment after this vid, ran 4 miles, then swam with bound hands and feet the next morning. I was that much empowered. David Goggins, thank you is all I can say. Hope to shake your hand and say that in person one day. Damn Few.

Absolute legends this man is and those all within the room, nothing but respect, admiration, and appreciation for all of them. David Goggins and those like his nature have shown us time and time again what it takes to reach success. The moment you start to not be afraid to stand up and make the tough decisions in life that's what gets you ahead, listen to his gut, and doesn't care about the negative opinions of others. If you are reading this then know that every human on this planet (including you) has the choice to become great and do good in this world on their own terms. You reading this right now are an amazing gift to this world and I believe in you. Thanks again David Goggins, your impact will continue to be felt for generations to come.

“It’s so easy to great nowadays because everyone else is weak.” - Goggins This man truly handed opened my mind up which changed my life. I have the utmost respect not just for him but his comrades, and anyone who serves, in any branch. When you think you’re tired you’re only 40% in to your capability. I went from a 218 pound addict drug dealer to an 178 pound amateur boxer in the span of 8 months. Dogs never full. Professional is my next goal. “Don’t stop when you’re tired, stop when you’re done.” - Goggins ( a personal quote I wrote ) “ Don’t become the ghost of who you weren’t and who you could’ve been. “
