CONTEXT FOR SHANG TSUNG, THE UNIVERSE WE ARE WATCHING AND VIOLENT KEN: This Universe is one where the 10th tournament ended with Outworld victorious, Shang Tsung tried to betray Kahn sometime into the invasion but got his ass kicked and was locked into a dungeon. Quan Chi was in this same place as his work for Shinnok got him on Khan's s*** list, so they decide to come up with a plan and they decide to do a ritual which was meant to mix the two perfectly together into a singular being, with the result in power boost being enough to kill Shao Kahn, however Shang Tsung, being a renowned traitor, altered the ritual so that Quan Chi died in essence but his power merged with Shang Tsung which had the side effect of killing every prisoner that was in that dungeon. Shang Tsung no longer needed souls to sustain his youth and he immediately killed Shao Kahn with no effort. He soon went on to rule that Realm but he often got bored, so in order to appease himself, he decided to resurrect Fighters and have them fight each other to the death. This included from other universes and this is why Johnny Cage has to intervene. Violent Ken is from one Universe where Ryu, Ken, Guile, and Chun-Li attacked M.Bison directly, he ultimately died but his Psycho Power spread to the fighters, turning them into remorseless killers and against one another. Ken was killed by his former friend Ryu who in turn would die by the hands of Akuma. This Ken is the one pulled over for this fight.
