The jab they were discussing at the end was indeed jab 2, not jab 3. Sparg0 held jab prior to marss getting off the ledge, so he got jab 1 twice, with one jab 1 hitting nothing and the next jab 1 hitting marss’s shield. After that he hit marss’s shield with jab 2 before doing the dash back up tilt. It somewhat looks like 3 jabs because of the jab 1 that doesn’t hit anything, but in reality marss did only get hit by jab 1 and 2 on shield. As such it makes sense that he didn’t shield grab.

I remember thinking that Sparg0 gets into a lot of game 5 situations for a player who is supposedly number 2 in the world, and that he eventually would be unseated/upset as a result. However, after watching him over these past few months, it became clear that…he just doesn’t lose in these game 5 scenarios. Players take him to game 4-5 a lot, but 9/10 times he manages to adapt and take the set. Doing so once or twice could be considered lucky. Doing it consistently is a skill.

It’s hard playing ZSS; lots of great movement and quick attacks but they’re not active for a lot of frames, and they don’t do a lot of damage or knock back. You need to get those setups and kill confirms in order to take those stocks and at such high level play no one is gonna let a stock (or interaction, for that matter) for free. If only she had a tilt that killed reliably at high percents (like idk ganon, kazuya, Roy), or her down b reset after being hit in the air, or was slightly heavier, if up B worked!…anything, ZSS would be so much better.

I mean, Sparg0 just outplayed him. You can't say it was the matchup when so many of the KO's were straight up reads and/or technical plays. Aegis may be a really good character, but they aren't a broken character with any exploits that get them KO's.

It’s clear from these spargo sets that Aegis wins a lot of air to airs. You have to play patient and camp them out. Stay grounded because their grounded options are not nearly as good. Pyra side b is super punishable after the patch. Think ZSS should avoid grabs vs Mythra. The risk vs reward is largely in Mythras favor. Pretty much any missed grabbed will get dash attacked or punished with a tilt up close. I think ZSS should camp Mythra with gun honestly. Pyra on the other hand can’t punish grabs as easily, but you still don’t want to air to air because she has crazy range.

I want to pick up ZSS, but shields are just way too strong against her. A lot of her stocks come from aerial pressure. She is also surprisingly weak, like I feel that Sheik actually out damages ZSS by the sheer options Sheik has in neutral. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think ZSS deserves a combo throw and a tilt that leads into a kill confirm (Dtilt or ftilt).

The more I watch pro play smash, the more I feel that sword characters are boring and broken... Don't misunderstand, I not saying that ZSS is thrash like Marss like to say, it's just that when you create a character that has 2 times the range of others and no real downside to counter it, the game loses a bit of fun and fair play. I think Spargo is an awesome player, like Kola or other sword character players, but it's hard to root for him when you see that

Yeah, i feel the same way. ZSS is definitely a really good character but is not as great as people usually think. Specially when almost every Top Tier and High Tier are losing matchups. The thing is ZSS destroys mid tiers and low tiers, but she gets destroyed against top tiers. Its really difficult to use her as Marss uses her but he’s just built different.

ZSS and Pythra are in my top 3 favorite characters with 2 of my favorite players so this set was great to watch. I know Mythra is broken but the amount of up air strings Spargo gets when he gets a hit is ridiculous. I wouldn't choose battlefield against Spargo's Mythra because he doesn't miss a single up air with her, it's too much free damage from one of the fastest characters in the game. It's got to be so frustrating not being able to land on Mythra (Spargo) even when using someone with ZSS's mobility. I wouldn't be surprised if Spargo does end up #1 over MKLeo one day.

When Marss beat Sparg0 at CEO 2019 there were a lot of comments mocking him because he was a kid. Even Marss posted some about it on Twitter. I think it’s because they’re mad he jokingly called himself the #1 player over Leo but there’s a huge corellation I’ve found that people who comment negatively under marss losses comment positively under leo and spargo wins

So frustrating to see how many stocks Marss is losing because of the nerfs to ZSS. In all his games this tourney, not just this one. He’s taking stocks consistently at like 170+% with up airs and up throws because 1) nair doesn’t convert into flip kick or bair as easily anymore 2) boost kick isn’t near as safe out of shield post nerf, 3) and her bury can be mashed out so fast that it’s actually a liability to try and go for a kill since all her kill moves have so much lag (except bair, which you can rarely space if someone is grounded) that she just ends up getting whif punished. It’s a joke. Really. I’m so sad about ZSS. She was fine after the first nerf, but she’s unplayable now. I feel for Marss.

@@zsoliddannys242 I don’t think that’s true. With the added end lag to nair, opponents have more time to DI and/or air dodge. I have seen it countless times since the nerf. Nair rar bair used to be a solid kill confirm, even at like 70-80%. But I rarely see Marss (or myself, a zss main too) it happen anymore because it doesn’t connect as fast.

I don't know what kind of drugs these guys are on that are making them think Mythra's f-smash is a good move. The only thing good about it is its frame data. It's so weak now that it's nearly useless as a KO option unless you're right by the ledge. Marss just got too close to the edge recovering vs a sword character. That's not at all an uncommon range to hit at for the sword characters.

This isn’t exclusive to marss fans every pro thinks they’re either #1 or #2 in the game. They’re just a ridiculously good character. The top 3 of the swt were all aegis players
