i wanted mang0 to win, but i would've been fine if armada won. given how the match up seems fox sided/mang0's better match count against him recently, armada's use of a lot of dsmash really seemed like a cool adjustment specifically to mang0's style. armada has a lot of dedication to his fans. he's stream grinding so hard. just like the crowd chanting armada's name after winning genesis 3/BH5, most probably will cheer only after he wins. i'd love to see the same audience fervor for armada as mang0 during the match, but that prob won't happen. don't worry, tho. usually armada supporters are more reserved/just clapping, but you can hear hbox in the background loudly cheering for armada. lol. you're not alone.

It's most;y because he plays peach. No one denies that his peach is phenomenal. He has pushed her metagame to ridiculous levels and he is well respected because of that. I think it's probably because of the fox-peach matchup. Mango's Fox is such an explosive, fast character that can be really creative with electrifying with his combos. Armada is still creative, but he is a wall of pain. Peach likes to trade hits, and chain-grab in this matchup. Neither of those are very exciting to watch (maybe that's my opinion). Plus, Armada is amazingly consistent with this character. If Mango messes up once, Armada gets his stock off. TLDR: Fox is fast and cool. Peach is slow, not as cool to watch.

Well i can understand that, but in my opinion melee tournaments are so cool because the Five gods all have their "best at" character. Armada's Peach, Mang0's fox, M2k's Seik, PPMD's Falco and Hbox's Jigglypuff. That is really cool and super rare in fighting games. How boring will it be if the top 5 players, all used Fox as their main...Always fox vs fox... Maybe Jigglypuff or Peach are deffensive and not "exciting" but i like watching Armada, Hbox or M2k just fpr the variety.

Haplano I can see that. Personally, Armada is a frustrating opponent. He doesnt drop sets or games even to anyone that is top 6 in the world. Its almost inhuman to see his consistency. Mango has a bit more humanity. More flobs and SDs, drops to people within the top 20. Mango is still really consistent too, but not at robotic levels like Armada. Regardless, both of these players are some of the best to ever do it. Watching them play is always a treat

Mang0 is a people pleaser with an explosive and aggresive playstyle. Armada is a generally retracted personality which fits from where he comes from (I think Leffen is an exception to his area) and is often what many see as overly serious during tournament. People just like Mang0 (especially in the USA), and will always cheer for him unless it's an underdog matchup that people see they have a chance.

The diff between Hbox and Armada is that Armada will always out play his opponent in best of 5's or 7's but isn't explosive like mango or Hbox. Meanwhile Hbox plays a glass cannon that relies on the other player to mess up. That's why Sfat beat him. Hbox isn't good like m2k knowledge wise, or as technical as Armada, He's super dedicated. Another thing is that it's getting harder to gimp players which is why m2k and Hbox aren't doing so good.

Let me tell you guys about this little ass bag that you can all hear annoyingly chanting "LES GO ARMADAAAHH" every few seconds. I had the displeasure of sitting behind him and his squad of robo-lovers at Genesis 4, and every time Armada so much as took a breathe this kid would, at the top of his lungs, yell out "LES GO ARMADAAAAH". The "Armada" would get more high pitched and more drawn out each time, I swear. I'm all for fanfare, but why anyone would love robotic players is beyond me. Anyway, it's Grand fucking finals at Genesis 4. Mango is getting molly-whopped. As someone who always cheers for the players with showmanship, I remember telling my friend next to me "Man, Mango keeps falling into that shit" after seeing him get CC Downsmashed for the 13th time that set. This kid turns around, looks at me and says "You're really mad about crouch cancel down smash?" Slightly confused, I respond "Come again?" (Because he said it so fast it took a second to process what this dude asked me) "Just shit the fuck up, bitch" and he turned around. Now... I'm not someone who throws hands on the regular. But I don't think I ever wanted to lay someone out as much as I did that day XD Fast forward to Genesis 5. Across the fucking venue I hear the same chant, with his signature drawn out "ARMADAAAAAAH". I'm thinking "Ah fuck this guy, again!?" Thank the Lordt above that Big Leff took out Armada and shut this kid up for the rest of G5. i know toph has a good reason to say dont DI behind on the low percent up throw but i feel like mango can force a tech chase situation which potentially gets him out of the chain grab and therefore takes much less percent. peach is not a great character for tech chasing so this seems like a good idea. im also wondering if fox can do DI behind at low percents and then do the super pro thing where he DI's to purposely take two hits of the down smash and get sent farther away from peach so that peach cant tech chase at all? i know thats done when players are at high percents and want to get sent the opposite direction with the down smash so they are sent across the whole stage and have an easier time recovering, so it might work just as well here unless being at a low percent keeps that strategy from working.

Armada was in the losers bracket, so him winning the first set reset the bracket and started the next set. If you lose in losers bracket, you're gone. If you lose in winners bracket you get sent to the losers bracket (or in this case, the bracket gets reset). If you win in winners (or neutral) bracket: you win. If you win in losers bracket: you go to winners bracket and/or reset the bracket.
