Puff is so good and people didnt even know it. In the right hands if you make just one mistake puff can just explode your stock away, on so many characters too; recovery hardly manners with 90% of the cast against puff

on paper puff has a good chance in this match up but in practice peach seems to win it handily.

Dunno bassmage and hungrybox approach matches very differently. What if bassmage went for crouches, grabbed the turnip from the air, went for fewer pounds? I feel that Hungrybox could have gotten some of those weak fair -> rest conversions (although he isn't as good as Bassmage at edge guarding), and at low%/death% rest gambles (2 gambles per stock = 6 possible gambles) could have tilted the set.

Peach farms on paper and in practice. Peach’s hitboxes are really good for stuffing out Puff. And it’s not like she gets gimped since her recovery is really good

Rest/Sing at low% is good against peach as her rest punish game tends to be weak. If Bassmage was Hungrybox, he could have gotten a few weak Fair -> Rest maybe at 5:09 9:01 11:27 15:10 and random uair -> rest combos. Also I swear puff can go for dsmash at ledge to beat out Peach's recovery, but it has to be timed well.

Bassmage only goes for rest when it's guaranteed. On tech roll ins for example. You will see him throw a uair in a tech situation here and there, but at this level of play, Everyone knows not to tech roll in against puff. Bassmage only made it this far because he know's he can't just be throwing out random uairs, or going for insanely inconsistent fair rests. Those are quick play combos (which is why hbox hits them all the time, he's hitting them on stupid wifi players lol). You just can't pull that shit at this level of play. Bassmage is the best puff in the world becuase he is a very intelligent player and is Clinical off stage. Rest stuff is fun, but you will lose much more games than you win if you are only playing for rest. It's just not consistent or safe enough to do at this level. Watch the skittles vs Bassmage set, you will see Bass go for rest in that game a lot, because skittles tech rolls in a lot. That's literally the only situation you can consistently be going for rest combos.

@@jordanrudningen8923 weak fair rest isn't a QP combo, it's true. It's just difficult to recognize, you have to pull the trigger right on time. That's hard especially when you get it outside of a pound follow up, which you've been conditioned to know leads into a rest. Stray fairs are much harder to recognize because you have to be so present in that moment when you probably just through it out because it's a good hitbox
