The only thing that really got nerfed is it no longer snaps to the ledge but with 2 double jumps and a much faster airspeed compared to smash 4, most times you don't even need to flare blitz to recover.

There’s certain moves that you can perform that cancel the timer. When he switch from Squirtle to Ivysaur and immediately used Up B, he reset it so he could switch back to Charizard
