Little Chick says " What a crummy day! First big brother punches me in the head over and over, then a black feathered villain tries to carry me off to be his supper! Mama came back and saved me. Big brother then decides to punch on our other sibling...i tired."

Jmo - doesn't seem to be enough food in this nest that's why mom went to find some. Where is the dad? He should be fishing to feed the babies to slow down the bonking. 😩

It’s like that time Sarah wished that the Goblin King would take her baby brother Toby away. Be careful what you wish for. I’m glad that these little ones are safe.

This is one crazy encounter! The chicks were literally a few seconds away from being snatched up and eaten by that Crow. Lucky for them though mama was in range and heard the loud mouthed Crow cawing away lol.

Saw it live terrible but happy baby 3 did eat appears fine. I truly was amazed 7 years watching Ospreys that 1 of parents were not in nest at such a young age of the babies those crows have been around. They just need a couple days more then the crows won’t bother them they will be to big. I am new watching this nest this year but thinking it could be new parents don’t know. This nest has a lot of aggressive bonking don’t recommend to some. The baby 3 just got pretty hurt from being bonked so much and you could here baby 3 crying out. Very aggressive nest should stop unless there is a good shortage.

Hi Osprey Momma - I just found this nest a few days ago and started to watch it and I was shocked to see the Mom leave the babies with all those crows in the area. I really did not like seeing so much aggression from the oldest to the youngest as the size difference is pretty great. I think that the bonking from BB1 to BB3 attracted the crows because the baby was crying out (jmo). Then the crow as an opportunist, saw a chance to make a steal and went for it. I hope that the Mom stays on the nest until they can get bigger and not have a risk of being taken. Do you know the how much weight a crow can carry? I would think in a few more days the chicks would be too heavy to carry off? Take care my friend and SED

@SamtheMan05085 жыл бұрын
Poor#3 is so much smaller. I sure hope there's plenty of fish to go around, or #1 and #2 will bonk each other since they're more evenly sized and #3 can sneak in for a few bites.

Hi Michelle I really hope that BB3 can continue to eat well and grow bigger because he is going to need it with his older sibling bonking him.

That mean chick got a little dose of it’s own medicine! It was really just like a little kid saying to it’s mother “Mom I was sitting here just minding my business and... He pecked me on my head...Mommy am I bleeding?. This is too cute!

I wonder if it's not just about food. Crows are super smart and might be trying to kill off preditors in the area before they're a threat. We see this dynamic with baboons killing tiger/lion cubs.
