to those people saying "so they have to do this every time someone gets shot in VGHS" this isn't even tedious enough, you gotta remember they filmed VGHS on sets meaning they have to roto every person that gets shot and thats the life of a VFX artist

Aidin B True, but judging by the amount of times the effect was used in the show, you'd have to think they did this once and created a preset for it. Then all the VFX artists would have to do is apply a quick track and make a few tweaks.
@aidinb67219 жыл бұрын
Rob Cartwright Definitely but there were probably many cases where they had to do it by hand.

Anton Gutierrez Films search up a tutorial of rotobrush, really simple you just keyframe and animate a roto, and after you can add refine soft matte for smooth edges. or if you dont like rotobrush you can just create a mash and keyframing it which is longer but neater

Do you create a aep for each original shot? Or one aep for each edited shot? Or even, you copy/paste a small sequence of edit shots into after to vfx them all together? Show us the "best practices" in organizing workflow! Thanx!

@FelonyArson9 жыл бұрын
CapsLockKeyon then just shake your camera in the right moment
@weused2bestoned9 жыл бұрын
CapsLockKeyon you can do it with keyframing.. zoom in slightly, use your arrow keys to pan the layer you want shaking.. but only pan 1-2 clicks to the top right, then bottom left, top left, bottom right.. make the movements a few frames between.. so that when it's played back the screen shakes to the positions fast and just looks like a wobble. you can easily make it larger or smaller, faster or shorter by stretching your keyframes out
@bouchandre9 жыл бұрын
CapsLockKeyon Add the effect Slider control to your plate, press alt-click on the keyframe button for the position of your plate, type in wiggle(8,0) but instead of a "0" use the expression pickwhip to go and select the slider control. This way you can animate the shake with with a keyframes on the slider control. You can also change the "8" to whatever you like.

Can you guys do a tutorial for how to do explosions? I want to learn how to make the explosion from, for example, an RPG, and then also the effect of somebody being hit by the shockwave and being launched through the air.
@TheLongestDivision9 жыл бұрын
ethanc I always find the easiest way to pull off a realistic explosion is to use some kind of pre-keyed explosion asset, then combine that with a wiggle expression. The body being hit by a shockwave would be a huge project in and of itself. You could probably pull it off using turbulent displacement and/or some 3D tracking. I'm taking suggestions on my channel for tutorials at the moment, if you'd wanna see a full one you should comment on my channel! Hope this helps, best of luck! -Zac
