VH-60 makes practice landings at the US Naval Observatory

Some raw video of VH-60s of HMX-1 Nighthawks making practice landings and takeoffs from the US Naval Observatory. Marine pilots are required to make a certain number of take offs and landings to stay certified so whenever the VP is away they take advantage of the empty area for some landing drills.

VH-60Ns have been in service since 1989.

@@AA-xo9uw no. Not they way they are intended to be used! They are the replacements four years ago but yet President and VP can’t fly on them yet!

I think you might be talking about the VH-92A which is the replacement helicopter that's been stuck for four or five years and not certified for POTUS yet. I see them doing test flights around DC from time to time, but no idea when it's going to come into Marine One service. The VH-92 will replace the VH-3 (Marine One) and these VH-60s that are in service.
