Nice video MHTI. You most certainly listen to your viewers. I will have to say, "YOU ARE THE MAN !!" Keep up the great work Sir. The antenna you made really look so professional as if it was purchased from Amazon or Channel Master. Job well done MHTI !! Peace vf 😀😀😀😀😀 THANKS TOO !!!

I look forward to your videos MHTI. You give me an education in antennas. I will be making my antennas soon. Thanks again Sir. vf@@mrhoptoit7835

I got an idea for you Sir. The antenna 1:07 with 3 hoops would probably work better with 5 or 7 hops. Then stack 2, one on top of the other. This has to give more gain with very little extra materials used. Just sharing an epiphany with you MHTI.@@mrhoptoit7835

I am hoping my ideas help you make great antenna for the average person. This is one field of study that never stops moving forward. Hope you consider something with fractals in the future. I have a feeling using bowtie elements with triangles cut out will make for super gain reception. Thank you for really going the extra mile with videos and help for us all. Peace vf@@mrhoptoit7835

I have an idea MHTI. Would short wires protruding from the main reception element going around the perimeter, very similar to barb wire increase the signal strength ?? Just wondering.

Interesting. I have no idea what that would do. Thanks, VF

I have copper wire available. You made it seem that I could use it in place of the aluminum. How would the dimensions/construction change if you used copper? Your video is very helpful and clear.

Follow the same dimensions and construction. Thanks for watching.

Would using 5 wires wound around each other increase the gain even more ?? Just wondering Sir.

Based on what I've experimented with, there is a point where adding more size to the element no longer increases the antennas capabilities. Twisting 3 wires together was as much measurable increase as I could get.
@victoryfirst28789 ай бұрын
Did you use 10 gauge wire when you twisted the 3 together ?? Thank you MHTI for your help and advice ?? Look forward to your videos and technical help too. Peace v @@mrhoptoit7835

I tried twisting 10 ga wires, but it didnt increase any reception vs just a single 10 ga wire. In my experiments twisting 12 ga wire was about the most I could do and still increase performance.

Thank you for the information MHTI. Now I will know what size to use for my big double hoop reflective antenna. Would making two antenna mounted one about the other increase the signal strength ?? I have monster trees galore and the leaves will be on the trees soon. Thank you Sir. @@mrhoptoit7835

Would putting two VHF antennas, one on top and one on the bottom of the long range double hoop with low VHF and hgh VHF lengths matter which would be on top and which would be on bottom make any difference for reception ?? Sorry MHTI for the long sentence as I wanted to get everything stated for your answer. Would putting a reflector on VHF help with poor reception ?? Look forward to the part two Sir. Thank you for your time and help too. 😀😀😀😀😀 You are the man Mr. Hop To It.

Mixing hi vhf and low vhf antennas is pretty common. Just be sure on how you connect the wiring. Reflectors will also work to enhance reception. Thanks, VF

MHTI does a half-wave dipole work better than a folded dipole antenna ?? I would think that since there is more metal length would help increase the gain ??? Peace v
@mrhoptoit78354 ай бұрын
They work about the same, as long as they are both tuned to the frequency you want

I am wondering if you could answer me one question MHTI. Would folding a dipole antenna like snake to make a smaller form factor keep the signal reception the same ??? Also, if the length of the antenna is for the lowest frequency channel let this folded antenna let me recieve the higher channels, Ex. 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 to 6 to 7 to 8 to 9 to 10 to 11 to 12 to 13 ???? Hope I made the question clear MHTI. Thanks for your time too. vf
@mrhoptoit78353 ай бұрын
I've seen an antenna similar to what you describe used for FM reception, not TV. It would work, but the reception probably would be diminished. What the antenna receives is a total of its tuned length and how strong the broadcast signal is, so in most cases you may receive one or two channels beyond what you're tuned to.

@Victoryfirst Hope you see this ! To answer your question about the number of wires twisted together, and gain ? By twisting more wires together does not impact gain ! If anything, increasing the diameter of the element, will increase the usable Band width ! And lowering the antennas " Q " ! ( The frequency that can be best optimized ) As a single element will truly resonate on a single frequency, giving the antenna its best chance for reception on a particular Channel ! Not to say it will not pick up other channels, but not optimally ! Radio and Television signals deal with specific mathematical formulas ! And you simply cannot get around physics,( Physical size etc.) if you expect to find your best results ! And even with a perfectly designed antenna, atmospheric conditions can change reception dramatically ! Hope this helps ! 👍😉
