Rally drivers are some different breed really! The world idolises F1 drivers, quiet rightly maybe. But the world forgets the truly skilled drivers!

This has brightened a dull day. Happy memories of rallying a Sunbeam......and never having any money!

Another epic video, real men driving real rally cars, no electronic or aero wizardry, brilliant steer with the rear 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🏁

Stig showing his class there. Much better to watch than the race of champions it evolved into

Absolutely fantastic memories! MG Metro race was so entertaining. Not bad when you consider these only had 70BHP from the A Series 1275cc engine. 4 speed gearbox as well. Thanks for all these old pieces of magic. Brilliant!

That 10 lap race was absolute madness. I love it!

The Sunbeam & Chevette are very closely matched. Aluminium block v iron block, I seem to remember the heads valve angle different too. Loved my HSR, my friend's Sunbeam was great too.

Brooke's car was missing like a Jew when it's time to pay a bill. Shame about Stig's spin, would have likely been fastest time.

Yeah i believe to begin with they used lotus heads on the slant 4 block while still perfecting their own head. Or they may have been made to use theri own head by the fia i cant remember.
@russcattell955i3 жыл бұрын
@@bunter6 Yes to both, the Lotus ally block was based on the Vauxhall iron block. Both great cars.

Excellent event- it had it all: Group 4 rear drive classics, Stig, Pentti, Keke, Tony, etc. Triumph Acclaim as the obvious autotest car of choice (cough) and the obligatory Mansell sulk! What more could anyone ask for? Fantastic!!!

The wife thinks i am mad......maybe.......but i remember tracking through a wet forest to see Tony Pond for the first time in the 6R4. I wonder how many times she remembers wandering around the shops in the pouring rain to buy shoes? Excellent stuff excellent times.......thank you for the fantastic memory.

Loved MG metros , cheap as chips in the 1990s and loads of fun 🤩

Triumph Acclaim was a very underrated car of its time .
@bunter64 жыл бұрын
how good do these old group 4 cars look compared to today's tinseled up things that bare little resemblance either mechanically or aesthetically to their road going equivalents. Also the MG Metro race was fantastic and shows just how exciting low powered racing can be if the drivers are evenly matched & a bit mental :)

This is great, totally bonkers. An Austin Rover sponsored event, using Talbot and Vauxhall rally cars. Then onto the slightly embarrassing Triumph Acclaim stage (I had one - they won't have enjoyed this). Utterly barking, I love it.
