All this is awesome to see again. Love the feature of the back markers as well. Thank you for your hard work in sourcing and putting up.

Oh yes, that's what I call a proper TV show. Why can't rally coverage be like this now? Not just the front runners, but the guys and gals enjoying their dreams. Probably one on of the first times Colin and big Al appeared on camera. WW at the height on his career. And a young George Donaldson. Thanks for posting this,

Agreed great to see all this, imagine how much time it took to make that program, now all you get is a quick intro and then lots of in-car shots, this was a great mini documentary on how rallying used to be thanks for uploading...

I remember traveling through Europe with my parents in the 1970’s and early 80’s, having my mind blown to see Rally and Motocross on TV! I mean it was often a part of the regional news show sports broadcast! Mind blowing to me at the time! Rally and motocross on television? Like regularly on TV! It just didn’t happen in the US, almost never at that time....like once a year on wide world of sports(motocross) and maybe we could get a glimpse of rally on a cool TV show called “Motorsports Mondial”. When I returned to the US in 1985, my friend and I would scour book stores for Euro or Japanese magazines with Rally featured in it...it was really the only avenue into the sport for us at the time.

Jewelled intro music, the much underappreciated Group A era, a young Colin in the McRae family residence and the chirrrp chiirrrp noise of a Sierra Cossie wastegate. What's not to like?

The music gave me a proper flashback, group A was solid, the delta intergrale being my favorite rally car followed by the Scooby.

Been waiting to see this for a while. Had the full 1987 RAC Rally on VHS but not the preview or the live stage at Weston Park. Have seen the Live Stage when i bought a review of the 1987 Open Championship some years ago. Really look forward to uploads to this channel especially in the current climate. Look forward to more of archived events from my childhood.

Good to see these old clips from Mr VHS, in the first 5 mins leading up to the RAC notice that the sound for almost every car is dubbed and they have the wrong engine sounds, a 6 cylinder nissan silvia? a 205 1600 that sounds much more like a 5 cylinder quattro?, I wonder why they bothered doing that?!

I just subscribed and thought I was back in 'Nam' in 68. Totally remember the theme tune, growing up Groub B and later Group A was the shit.

Love the introduction, “We are in the Walled City of Chester, in the North West.” How can Chester be in the North West, when it’s on the Welsh Boarder, south of Liverpool?
