There was one where he finally gets her into bed and in the "morning after" he asks her how it [the sex] was and she sips her coffee then says "It was like your coffee: instant" and his face drops. It's funny how Buffy nailed serialized story telling on TV: the episodes were largely stand alone while linking into a larger narrative where a big story played out over the course of a season, and the popularity of these commercials was due to their serialized narrative. Ripper or not, these commercials are still memorable to those around at the time, and Tony Head's later portrayal of Rupert Giles has little to do with it since most are surprised when they hear who the guy is.
