You're supposed to use these air-compressors (the ones that come with alligator clips vs. a 12v accessory-socket plug) while the vehicle is running so you don't drain the battery. I have the Viair 450P (not the "RV" model of the 450P, but both identical performance-wise) and use it for my Daily Driver (previously a Honda Pilot, now a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon with stock/OEM 33" tires) as I don't own a RV (yet). I wanted a 12v compressor with a higher Duty Cycle than pretty much all the other 12v choices had, AND be able to handle tires larger than mine (applying the "more is better" doctrine, in case you ever DO need the extra capacity/performance) so the 450P was for me. "Experts" said back then (4-5 years ago) the 450P was "the best 12v compressor under $300" and I think that was accurate. So far, no issues with it as it's always worked. I've recently seen KZbin videos on the NAPA 300LPM compressor -- a double-cylinder model that is way faster than the Viair -- but not sure of it's quality/durability over time. Or, if parts are available for if if it needs them. Plus, it has no warranty of ANY length. Otherwise though, if one wants a FAST compressor, at 1/3 the price of a 450P, then the NAPA is it...even beat an ARB double-cylinder compressor in a speed test (but of course, the ARB is likely of better quality/durability). Still, I'll be keeping/using my Viair 450P. -- BR

Wouldnt the 400p put fill up the tires easier since it puts out 230cfm 12v or 254 24v compared to the 450p 180 cfm? I thought the cfm's matter more than the psi?
