For anyone who bought a crosley for Christmas or Black Friday or whatever: Congrats! Welcome to the wonderful world of vinyl! Yes, a lot of people will tell you that these are detrimental to your listening experience and will damage your vinyl. Those people are not wrong, due to the weight of the needle (or called the tracking force) being more than what is needed for the needle to stay in the grooves it can wear away the bumps in the grooves making the sound muddier overtime. Now for someone that just wants to have some fun and enjoy the medium every once in a while, this is fine! just remember that over time it may be best to upgrade for a little bit more $ if you feel like you want to make a small commitment to the hobby. Have fun and keep spinnin’!
@kyleeren4 жыл бұрын
I've heard the tracking force is decent enough to not ruin records! I've also heard just to add speakers and replace the needle!
@josejalaeno734 жыл бұрын
kylee ren They won’t carve up your records immediately like some people claim, just be sure to change the stylus before it gets worn out. I still wouldn’t play expensive/rare records on one just to err on the side of caution however. Adding external speakers to play through will definitely help sound quality as the built in speakers are awful. As an entry level turntable it is fine, but not something I’d recommend keeping long term unless you don’t really care about sound quality or record collecting in general. They’re good for testing the waters to see if it’s a hobby you’re going to stick with. A lot of vinyl enthusiasts need to realize that not everyone is as big of a nerd as them, some people just want to enjoy their records in a simple manner and without having to spend hundreds to thousands on a state of the art hi-fi system lol.

"It has that staticy sound like records do..." Mine don't Sure there's some surface noise, but no static type sounds. Just be sure to change the stylus on that regularly. A worn stylus is what damages records. They use a cheap sapphire stylus and it wears down a lot quicker than the diamond styli used in other turntables. On a diamond conical stylus like the ATN-3600L you'll get maybe 500 hours of playback. On the sapphire stylus for that turntable, more like 80 hours.
@xaenon3 жыл бұрын
I'm not even sure the sapphire tipped styluses last 80 hours. I make it a ritual with all my phonographs (not just Crosleys) to replace the stylus once a year, and only with diamond type, and to always have spares onhand.

@xaenon3 жыл бұрын
It depends on your budget and needs. There is a dizzying array of turntables and record players out there - some really good, and others that are not much of an improvement over the Cruiser. Audio Technica's LP-60 line is excellent for entry level. Target (the department store) sells a surprisingly good turntable called the Heyday for around $100. Audio Technica also offers a nice direct drive model (LP-120) for around $300 as well. All three of those use MAGNETIC type cartridges, and have built-in preamplifiers. The LP60 also sports fully automatic operation. They are not 'record players', they are turntables and require a separate amplifier and speakers. The U-Turn Orbit is a nice rig, too - though a little esoteric. The base model starts well under $200, but does NOT include a preamp (It's offered as an extra-cost option). A fully loaded Orbit can go north of $600. It, too, requires a separate amp and speakers. The prices, feature sets, and quality generally go up from there. I There aren't many 'upscale' portables, I'm afraid. There were a few models but they've mostly been discontinued.

Some 78rpm records are 8 or 8.5 inches across and have a very tiny label in the centre. The Audio Technica LP 120 is best for those. Other turntables stop halfway through those non-standard sized 78rpm records.

Hey! Have you tried the Bluetooth function? I could use some help :(
@josephbennett34822 ай бұрын
Not sure if you got your record player's Bluetooth function to work but in order to use it turn on the record player then put the switch to the middle then go into your phone's Bluetooth settings and click scan so your phone can find the record player and then click on the name of the record player when it shows up on your phone , after that it should then be connected to your phone.

There’s 4 screws you can take off and you should be able to find it. There’s some wiring connecting the board so take a flat head to pry up the board and then lift carefully. Give a lil shake. If you’re record isn’t spinning after. Look up “crosley record player not spinning” and you’ll also learn how to fix your belt that causes the platter you put records on to spin

If you play a 33rpm record at 45rpm, the first instance of it being in the 1960s, you end up with what is nowadays referred to as "Nightcore".

@@Dizzee00 Hello to Teodora Nita just saw this on line so sorry if I do\or did not get back to you in time for 60 .00 dollars if thats what you have to spend I know in wallmart or target you can get the crosley or victrolla suit case record player but you will sacrafice good sound these record players will not harm your records as others might say but the sound coming out of small speakers will sound flat no bass very high in treble there are others like these suit case players that bwill sound a little better but they will go over your budget the record players that will sound a little better will have a magnetic cartridge the record players under 60.00 will have a ceramic cartridge ,crosley has several models that are like suit case types but the are over 100.00 depending where you buy to get a good bdeal is to try amazon first then ebay perhaps ,I know a nother brand called MPK TT270 they make a suitcase like crosley but it has a magnetic cartridge for 99.00 on amazon or u might find also on Ebay it has a much fuller sound , I know being on a budget sucks I wish they could make better portable record players like in early 60's and 70's ,I am not sure how much you know about record players ,but I grew up with them all my life ,fisrt part time after school was in a record store so I love audio equipment ,I wish I could give more help so as to help you get the right record player without breaking the bank I hope this helps and have a safe holiday and new year JRo
