@@philipkoen5811I bought the vinyl (45) from Danny Mirror 1977. I still have it. I was a 14 years old fan from Germany when Elvis died. I miss him every day. I was 5 times in Memphis and many times in Graceland and at his grave. Elvis is the longest love of my life. ❣️

Elvis never realized how great he was. He didn’t think anyone would remember him after he died. I pray that wherever he is he can see how much he’s loved and always will be.

I was alive the day Elvis passed and I cried on a bus bench in the rain...so people would not see my tears. Sad to say I felt worse than if a family member died. This video brought it all back to me and I am crying again. When I heard the news I was working on the movie GREASE setting up the lighting for the song Greased Lightning. Suddenly my boss walked onto the sound stage and telling to the whole crew...I HOPE NONE OF YOU ARE ELVIS FANS BECAUSE HE JUST PASSED AWAY. I was just so sick inside.....I still am after this video. He was just magic...still is. I am glad you took interest in Elvis as I , and so many others did. I appreciate all you do to keep Elvis in our minds. I will always love this guy for making my life so happy.

Wow...your story was beautiful. Made me cry. I'm 64 and I remember at 18 sitting in my car at a red light. Then on the radio, they said Mr. Presley has died... I thought it was his father, Vernon. Then I heard them say Elvis has died. I cried and cried as I could hardly drive, but I drove to my grandmother's house to see my oldest brother. I knew he would be there. He was there swinging on Grandma's swing.. crying. He loved Elvis so much. And yes, his friends made fun of him in high school because of his love for Elvis. But he never swayed from loving him. Rip brother. ❤ Rip Elvis ❤️ Missing you so much 😢

I was only 3 when Elvis passed. My mother couldn't function and I was taken to my grandparents house to stay for a week! My mom died at only 57 yrs young, & til her death, she refused to believe he had really died. She wanted to believe he was on a private island waiting for her! Lol She never went to Graceland because she was in a wheelchair (multiple sclerosis)& she said her heart couldn't take it. I went & put her name on the wall. Most emotional, spiritual and best day of my existence. I mourn for my mom, grandparents and Elvis! RIP Ep and Family.💔❤😇⚡😭🕊👑🎸🎶

Very genuine reaction Ray. I watched to the end with watery eyes and took those 10seconds with you and I am 54. He was just a beautiful, humble, kind, charismatic human with the most amazing ability to sing any song and make you feel it. I defend Elvis' memory quicker than I defend a family member. He is the greatest - 50% for his amazing talent and 50% for the man he was. 🙏

Elvis was so humble and so loved his fans. It was his happiness in his life to make people happy, be it signing an autograph or buying someone a car!! He frequently said to friends and family that he worried he’d not done anything special to be remembered for. I so hope that he is able to see now how loved he was and how his legacy has been strong and is staying strong with his memory being kept alive be old, and now new fans. 👌💕🕺🙏

I was born and raised in Memphis and was working at a record store 20 minutes from Graceland when his death was announced. I can tell you, it wasn't only Elvis Presley Blvd that was jam-packed with people. The city was at a virtual stand still everywhere. Our store filled up and every Elvis album, single, and tape was bought within the hour. It was stunning, sobering. We were all in shock. Thanks, Ray, for honoring Elvis this way. He really was a stellar human being, in addition to all of his well-deserved legendary rock n roll superstar status. True greatness never dies. Peace.

The ANGELS were preparing the DISCIPLES here. I genuinely believe Elvis was preparing his fans for the inevitable, and the ONLY QUESTION is what year did this start? I believe that this transition started RIGHT THERE in the '72-'74 period. The last 5 years was a terrible grind for Elvis. He was caught in a trap and he couldn't get out. He did it HIS WAY. He believed MOST in the TWO THINGS that bring people together, FAITH AND MUSIC. And the fans were the EVIDENCE. Each fan then and EACH NEW FAN TODAY means that Elvis succeeded in bringing MANY different types of people TOGETHER. HE REALLY believed in that. You could SEE IT and FEEL IT in his music. That wasn't an act. Glory, glory Hallelujah, his faith in HUMANITY STILL MARCHES ON. Thank you Elvis and thank you Ray for making this feel real 45 YEARS after his passing. We are NOT ALONE. We are just one of many more generations that will sing his praise.

Elvis was a total one-off in every sense of the word. His death was a total shock, people refused to believe it. He was so much more than just an «entertainer», he was a household name, the world over. He bridged the «generation gap», uniting people, not dividing. He never hurt a soul, only himself. People who bring so much joy like Elvis did, should have lived to be a 1000 years.

I was 4 months old the day Elvis died. by the time I was 5 years old maybe 6 I was a 150% ELVIS FAN! Not because my Mom or Dad was, because honestly they were not. They liked him but neither had tapes or albums of his music. But something about Elvis hit me like a ton of bricks, I fell in love with his voice, his smile, his love for his mother , his love for GOD. But it was not easy growing up in the 80"s and 90"s being an Elvis Fan. I learned quickly that kids would make fun of the fact that I loved Elvis. They would make fun of his looks when he got older , just before his death, they would make fun of the music he sang, and the outfits he wore. And believe me , it would make me so angry! I would see news articles in the grocery line when i would go to the store with my Mom that just made Elvis out to be some horrible person . I will never understand people and the drive they have to make Elvis out be someone that he is not. Elvis will always be The King of Rock and Roll with a heart the size of the world. No One will ever compare !

I was in my early 20's & worked in the Business Office of the college where I was also a student. At 4:30pm my coworkers & I walked out to the parking lot, laughing together about something when one of the girl's husband, who'd been sitting in his car waiting for her, stepped out of the car & said "Elvis died!". He'd just heard it on the radio. Our laughter stopped & for a minute we just stood there, stunned. I remember saying "What??". Then people were calling out to each other from all over the place, all across the large parking lot, spreading the unbelievable news. Suddenly everyone was jumping in their cars, wanting to get home to watch the news, many hoping it was some kind of awful mistake. All I could think about was getting home to call my mom & older sister who lived out of state. I knew they'd take it hard. The three of us had gone together to see Elvis in concert just a few short years before, in '73 & '74. All the way home I kept having flashbacks to seeing that incredibly beautiful face close-up & in the flesh, smiling & laughing, full of life. And that gorgeous voice...how it soared through the arena & landed in your heart. It was a sad night. A lot of people comforting each other all over the country & around the world. I did a lot of comforting throughout the next few days, through the news coverage, funeral coverage, people's remembrances. And I needed some myself, too. Thanks for your heartfelt reaction to this video, Ray. You've become one of us & we love you & your family. As always, much love from Kentucky. 💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙

I applaud your heartfelt emotion and sincerity, Ray. I’m not telling a secret here, but the day Elvis died was horrible. As a 12 year old kid, his death and my incredulity at losing him stayed with me. But the flip side - As I got older I realized Elvis will never die. He left the world with an unparalleled catalogue of songs, live performances, videotaped rehearsals, movies, and behind the scenes footage which will keep him alive for eternity. More importantly, he gave to us a legacy of love for people which should serve as a blue print for mankind. His life, and the way he lived it, is a handbook on caring for and helping your fellow man when you can. The thing to remember is this - Elvis is loved so unconditionally by his fans because he first loved them. On another note, you just know Elvis would get the biggest kick out of watching your transformation into a huge fan. I know I have. Thank you!! You’re a blessing.

EP died on my 22nd birthday. It was crushing at the time, but as the years go by, the hurt lessens with the knowledge that Elvis belongs to eternity, and that he accomplished so much in so little time. I think he would have been especially touched by the fact that the people lining the streets of Memphis at his funeral were young and old, black and white, rich and poor - all brought together by their love for this wonderful man. Ray - don't hide your tears, brother. Elvis was easily moved to tears, even on stage. He wasn't embarrassed by them, and neither should you be. I have shed more tears - and add some more today - over EP than for some of my closest friends and relatives - that's how much he touched me then and now. TCB, and thanks, EP for everything.

The day he died, my wife and I were on our way home from K-Mart. When we turned onto our street at about 2:30 p.m., the Dj broke in and said "There is a time in every Dj's career that he has to say something that he does not want to say. Elvis Presley, the King of Rock n Roll, died today at the age of 42." My wife and I were stunned. How could someone who had always been with us suddenly be gone? We remembered back to just over a year and a half earlier when we saw him in concert. New Year's Eve 1975 at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Mi. I own all his records, I've seen all his movies, as well as his Comeback Special and Aloha from Hawaii concert. But, until that night in Dec. 1975, I had not seen nor heard ANYTHING! Elvis Presley 'live' was the ultimate show. It is true.... if you heard the news back in 1977, you do remember where you were.

I remember it like it was yesterday. I lived Directly around the corner from Graceland (Elvis Presley Blvd & Winchester) ....I was 10 years old watching The Beverly hillbillies when the news came across the screen that Elvis died. My Great grandfather took me to the wake. THAT line was so long the summer day was so hot...we stood in it for two and a half hours and we got up to the gate and then they closed it at 6 TO see all those people cutting grass writing their names crying taking any kind of souvenir from Graceland that they could was mind-blowing🤯 even for me at 10 years old. Elvis packed a lot of life into those 42 years!~ For sure his passing was an unbelievable day, filled with sheer pandemonium, with so many of us stricken with disbelief and grief. Thinking, hoping, and praying it was just a plot to move E into a far away place so he could have some down time and rest, away from the hounds of the media and public spectacle to always have to produce something for someone. He lived a very hard secluded life. Yet, through it all, Elvis always put 100% of himself into everything, including his fans. To think the man had pondered if he'd still be remembered when he was no longer here! ❤ I tell you, he was still just that humble boy from Tupelo, humble to the core, that no one could break. Elvis was, is, and shall forever remain one of a kind~👑 Great reaction Ray.

I am 80 now and loved him since the 50's, he will always be the King and hopefully will always be honored and appreciated, as you just did. That was a sad day, a real downer... I was 9 when he died and I still remember where I was when I heard the news.. Everybody was totally bummed right out. Everyone liked Elvis, even those who weren't into his tunes or type of music still liked the guy. You couldn't help but like Elvis, he was the ultimate superstar. He looked and dressed really cool, he was charming, polite , funny...He was just a super cool guy with a 3+ octave vocal range....

I was 22 and 8 months pregnant with my daughter. My husband and I were leaving a Chinese restaurant downtown and people were outside on the sidewalk saying “Did you hear? Elvis has died.” Strangers were taking about it with one another. It was a warm, sunny early evening. Interestingly, I didn’t really become a big Elvis fan until this past year, and now I have been down the rabbit hole and have a profound appreciation and love for him. A study of his life and music is multi faceted. Many life lessons; both positive and not. My kids and friends just humor me but they don’t get it. How can you watch this video without shedding a tear.

Beautiful reaction. ❤👍👍 I don't think that Elvis ever really knew just how much he was loved and adored while on this earth and till this very day by even those who weren't even born at the time of his death. Nobody in history has had a global following the way that Elvis did and still does.

I don't see reactors cry during an Elvis reaction. I just don't. Half way through I saw you bow your head and I was just... Oh God, don't cry. Ray, please, do not cry. If you cry I'm gonna cry. But then I cried. This was a very emotional & very beautiful reaction, Ray. You showed your heart 💖 bless you 🙏💕 So this is something I'm gonna let you know, Ray: The funeral car process you saw behind Elvis's white hearse? Longest funeral procession in American history. And an other historical note: During Elvis's funeral, the record for the most flowers bought and given to any American's funeral still holds to this day. Elvis was loved. He was just a man. He said that once to a preacher who was a friend of Elvis's. He said something like, "I'm not that big. I'm not that big at all. I'm just a man." You know Elvis struggled with his level of fame. Even he didn't quite understand it at times and thought that maybe the Good Lord had His Reasons but Elvis being the Christian that he was, was as humbled by the gifts that the Lord have him as he was perplexed. So Elvis thought that maybe he was given his gifts to give back to others in any and every way he could. Christians believe in tithing. You give to your church, your community, people in need. You follow Jesus Christ, love, charity, mercy, forgiveness. Elvis believed in that. He believed in that and yes he learned about other religions through reading books and talking to others, but he always went back to his Christian beliefs. Now let me just say that I do not consider myself a religious person. But I do consider myself a spiritual person and I do believe in God. That does not mean I do not acknowledge or respect Elvis's love for Jesus Christ and God and he did love them. He did try to live up to it all. But as Elvis said himself, "The image is one thing and the human being is another. It's very hard to live up to an image. I'll put it like that." He wasn't perfect but neither is any other human being on this earth. I never expected to come to love Elvis and feel protective of him. But I have and I do and I will. Elvis is gone but not forgotten and he will be forever in our hearts ⚡❤🙏🌹🙏💕 And so too will his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley 💜✌🌹🙏💕 And Ray just to say for the record: I agree with you on the media. Nope. I do not like the media any more than I like politics. It's just as hard for me to listen to some reporter disrespecting someone and all for the purpose of trying to create a problem where there is none. Anyway, I don't like crying. But to DEAR MISS JENNIFER: THANK YOU FOR THIS ONE 💜🌹💜🌹💜🌹💜🌹 And to DEAR RAY: THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS WITH US ALL HERE A VERY BEAUTIFUL REACTION RAY THANK YOU SO MUCH 💙💐💙💐💙💐💙💐 & MUCH LOVE TO YOU 💛💛🌹🌹💐💐💕💕 TCB ⚡ & TLC ❤ & peace ✌& blessings 🙏 to you & yours & to one & all here as well 💕

Very well said, Sammy 👏 I had heard that about the record for the most flowers bought, but not about the longest funeral procession. This is particularly poignant as we are approaching the anniversary once again and it still affects me today as strongly as it did when I first heard about his passing. I have been lucky enough to attend 2 Candlelight Vigils so far and there's an absolutely amazing and indescribable atmosphere there on that night♥♥♥ I like to think that he went back to the loving arms of his mama and his brother, Jesse, and that he is safe and happy. TLC to everyone ♥♥

So well said. Even in Britain, time stood still when he died. I was 20 at my first full time job and came back to the news that paralysed me with shock. He was a thread to my life since I was 3 and had only heard his voice on the radio. We had no tv so I never saw what he looked like til I was 10 and saw him in a film, in which there was a little girl, my age and I was so jealous of her!! He is still a thread through my life to this day and I so appreciate R’Elvis bringing Elvis to new fans and finding out the awesomeness of the man. Thank you 🙏👌💕🕺

I often think he should still be with us, he’d be 88 today but then another part of me thinks would he be the icon that he is today is he was still here with us. I also feel so much upset for Lisa-Marie. We know how we feel about Elvis’ passing but this was her Daddy. The pain and anger she must of felt on a daily basis must of been indescribable. May they both rest in peace with Lisa finally in her Daddy’s arms. Thanks Ray as always. You are the best at Elvis reactions 💙

A truly, heartfelt & genuine reaction, Ray. -I was 18 getting ready for college, driving around with my dad on a Summer job when the news came over the radio. I was shocked, not only because he was so young (about the same age as my dad) but because like most people, the last time we saw Elvis was the '73 Aloha concert when he looked great. It was only when CBS aired his last concert the following October that we realized how sick he was. Interesting version of "Trilogy". The Aloha version is what we're most familiar with but this is faster, with a more Country flavor to it.

I was 11&1/2 years old and watching TV when it came across the screen. I told my mom and my dad came home shortly afterwards. I ran into the kitchen and told him Elvis had died. He couldn't believe it. He loved Elvis. A sad, sad day. The world lost a beautiful soul August 16, 1977. Are you aware of James Brown's love for and friendship with Elvis? He was distraught and deeply saddened by Elvis' death. He went to Graceland and sat in the music room where Elvis' coffin was placed for extended periods and wouldn't leave his side until it was absolutely necessary. American Trilogy speaks to the heart and soul.

Story time for Ray: One day in Heaven, God was listening to His choir singing. It sounded fine, but He felt like it could be better. Something was missing. He said this to the choir, and they began to try all kinds of things to improve their sound. It improved a little, but it still wasn’t how He wanted it to be. He finally grew weary of their failed attempts, and He said “that’s it; I’m going to bring you someone who can teach you how to REALLY sing”. On that August day in 1977 Elvis Presley passed away, and God’s choir was elevated to new heights. And that’s why all of Elvis’s fans need to be good. 😁❤🎶

Tony Prince was a huge Elvis fan, he truly loved Elvis, had met and interviewed him twice, and had introduced him onstage in Las Vegas! The night Elvis died Tony Prince was in genuine shock and maybe fell back a little on his DJ patter mentioning Radio Luxembourg so often, but he did cancel all Advertisements on the night Elvis died so that he could concentrate on Elvis, and take calls from Elvis fans! He said the sense of loss he felt at Elvis dying was like losing a father or losing a son…

Yep, this was a very emotional video that marks another time in history when the "world stood still." Additionally, thank you for having such a great admiration and love for Elvis the Man. It's good to see someone that really cares about promoting his accomplishments, his generosity and service to others, and his love for Jesus Christ. He was, in fact, a "Child of God" and in his 1977 rendition of "How Great Thou Art," there is a moment in that song, when he sang "How great I think you are, Oh Lord" where, I believe, he was actually "worshipping" God. Thank you for speaking the "truth" out about Elvis Presley. All the best to you and your family!

Trivia Fact: A lot of people don't know that ....initially Elvis Presley was buried at Forest Hill cemetery and then grave robbers tried to plunder the burial site within days of his burial.. at which point the decision was made shortly after to move Elvis to Graceland. But his initial resting spot was not at Graceland but in fact Forest Hill cemetery which is on Elvis Presley boulevard.

Before he was buried at Forest Hill, his body was heavily guarded. I don't know why, this is according to Sam Thompson (Linda Thompson's brother) who was in law enforcement who thru Linda, his wife and him knew Elvis and was friends with him for 5 years and worked for him the last 1 and 1/2 years of his life. He said that he had the place surrounded but he stayed up all night that first night that Elvis was there. Thank goodness, he was moved to his Graceland home.
